Is my golf cart 36 V or 48 V?

On a lead-acid cart, count the batteries under the seat and read the voltage printed on each one. Six 6 V batteries make a 36 V system, while six 8 V or four 12 V batteries make 48 V. Carts converted to lithium usually have a single pack with the voltage on its label. Solenoids, chargers and harnesses are voltage-specific, so confirm this before ordering.

How do I find my golf cart's model and year?

Find the serial number plate or sticker on the frame or dash. Its location varies by brand and model, so check the owner's manual. The serial number tells you the model and year, and the manufacturer or a dealer can decode it. Body style alone can mislead, because models like the Club Car DS and Precedent were each sold for many years.

Will a 2-passenger enclosure fit a cart with a rear seat?

Usually not. Enclosures are cut for a specific roof length and body style, so a cart with a rear seat or an extended roof needs an enclosure made for that setup. Measure your roof from front to back and compare it with the listed size, such as 57" or 61", before ordering.
