What is the difference between a vacuum-insulated bottle and an insulated squeeze bottle?

A vacuum-insulated bottle has two steel walls with the air removed between them, which keeps drinks cold or hot for many hours. Can I put hot drinks in an insulated water bottle?

Vacuum stainless bottles handle hot drinks, but straw and flip-straw lids are generally not designed for hot liquids, so use a solid cap or a dedicated coffee lid. Plastic squeeze bottles are made for cold water and sports drinks. Check the maker's guidance for your model.

Are insulated water bottles dishwasher safe?

It varies by model. Some steel bottles are labelled dishwasher safe, while others should be hand-washed to protect the vacuum seal and the outside finish, and many lids are top-rack safe either way. When in doubt, use a bottle brush with warm, soapy water and let the bottle dry open.
