Dry Bags

Canoe trips, kayak days, bike tours and boat outings all need somewhere dry for clothes, sleeping bags, phones and food. Sizes here run from 3 L stuff sacks to 20 L roll-top backpacks, plus bike packs that mount on forks and handlebars. Choose by job: 3–8 L for electronics and a first-aid kit, 10–13 L for a sleeping bag or a day's clothing, and 20 L and up for gear packed loose in a canoe.

Material decides weight and toughness. Sea to Summit's Ultra-SIL sacks are ultralight for backpacking, while heavier tarpaulin bags such as CRESSI's Ocelot, along with Earth Pak and Pelican's ExoDry, take rougher handling on docks and decks. Compression bags like the Sea to Summit eVac let trapped air escape so they pack smaller. If you paddle, also check the required safety equipment for canoes and kayaks.

Brands include Earth Pak, HEETA and MARCHWAY.

In this range: anchors and coolers.
