704 Gear Trailblazer EDC Folding Knife, Olive Drab Green, 3.25" D2 Spear Point Blade, G10 Handle

The 704 Gear Trailblazer is a compact everyday carry folding knife featuring a 3.25" D2 spear point blade and textured G10 handle for dependable cutting performance and secure grip.

The Trailblazer from 704 Gear blends durable materials and practical deployment options into a pocket-sized tool designed for daily use. Built around a high-wear D2 steel blade, this model prioritizes edge retention and controlled cutting, while the G10 handle offers tactile traction and long-lasting strength. At 7.75 inches open and 4.5 inches closed, it balances reach with carryability for outdoor tasks, workshop duty, and routine everyday uses.

How does the Trailblazer deploy and lock safely?

Deployment is fast and intuitive: choose the rear flipper for swift one-handed opening or the ambidextrous thumb studs for a controlled flick. Once the blade is fully extended, a liner lock secures the blade in place for safe cutting until you intentionally close it.

• Rear flipper and ambidextrous thumb studs for multiple opening styles
• Crisp blade deployment suitable for quick access
• Liner lock ensures blade stability during use

What kind of blade material and edge performance can I expect?

The Trailblazer uses D2 tool steel, a semi-stainless, high-carbon alloy known for strong edge holding under frequent use. It offers a good balance of wear resistance and toughness, ideal for cutting, slicing, and light piercing tasks common in daily carry.

• 3.25" spear point D2 blade for versatile slicing and piercing
• Holds an edge longer than softer steels, reducing sharpening frequency
• Blade profile suited for both precision work and general utility

How comfortable and secure is the handle during use?

The Trailblazer’s handle is molded from textured G10 scales that give a secure grip even when hands are wet or dirty. Ergonomic shaping and weight distribution help control the knife during detailed cuts while the low-profile pocket clip keeps it accessible in your pocket.

• Textured G10 for reliable traction and long-term durability
• Balanced weight (4.4 oz) for stable handling without bulk
• Reversible low-profile pocket clip for left- or right-side carry

What are the size and carry specifics I should know?

The knife measures 4.5 inches when folded and reaches 7.75 inches when open, a size that provides ample cutting length while still fitting comfortably in most pockets. At 4.4 ounces its weight is light enough for everyday carry yet substantial enough for confident use.

• Closed length: 4.5 inches; open length: 7.75 inches
• Blade length: 3.25 inches; overall trusted EDC dimensions
• Weight: 4.4 ounces — pocket-friendly but sturdy in hand

Who is this for? The 704 Gear Trailblazer is aimed at people who want a dependable, well-built folding knife for everyday tasks: commuters who need a pocket-friendly tool, outdoors enthusiasts who want a durable backup blade, and makers or handypersons who appreciate a hard-wearing edge. If you value simple, versatile deployment options, long-lasting edge geometry, and a grippy yet lightweight handle, the Trailblazer is built to be a trustworthy daily carry companion without unnecessary frills.
