BATTLBOX BattlBolt Survival Knife by Doug Marcaida — Fixed D2 Steel Blade, FRN Handle & Kydex Sheath

The BattlBolt blends a purpose-driven blade profile, balanced weight, and an all-weather handle to serve as a dependable tool for camp tasks, bushcraft, and emergency kits. Designed in collaboration with blade expert Doug Marcaida, this knife focuses on control for fine work and enough heft for tougher cuts, while the included Kydex sheath offers secure retention and versatile carry options.

How is the blade designed for outdoor use?

The BattlBolt uses a long D2 tool steel edge that holds an edge well and accelerates common camp cuts like kindling preparation and shelter building. A purposeful spine and blade geometry create a balance between slicing efficiency and chopping capability without sacrificing precision.

• D2 steel for strong edge retention and abrasion resistance
• Extended edge length for efficient slicing and batoning
• Spine serrations to saw cordage and notch wood
• Geometry tuned for control on detailed cuts and force on heavier cuts

What features improve grip and handling in the field?

The knife’s ergonomic FRN (fiberglass-reinforced nylon) handle is textured and contoured to deliver a secure hold in wet, cold, or gloved conditions. Balanced weight distribution helps maintain accuracy for fine work while providing stability during more forceful tasks.

• Ergonomic contours for natural hand positioning
• Textured FRN for slip resistance in adverse conditions
• Balanced tang-to-handle weight for precision and power
• Comfort-focused profile to reduce fatigue during extended use

How does the sheath and carry system support everyday carry and safety?

The form-fit Kydex sheath locks the blade in place for secure transport and includes a drainage hole to prevent water trapping. The sheath’s multi-orientation belt clip mounts in different positions so you can carry on a belt, pack, or drop-leg setup depending on your preference.

• Form-fit Kydex with solid retention for safe transport
• Drain hole to allow water and debris to escape
• Multi-orientation belt clip for adaptable carry setups
• Quick-access removal while maintaining secure lockup

What practical tasks is the BattlBolt best suited for?

This knife is built for real-world outdoor chores: preparing kindling, trimming branches, slicing rope, cutting shelter materials, and general camp maintenance. The combination of a long D2 edge and a grippy handle makes it a true utility blade for both everyday outdoor users and emergency kits.

• Kindling and fire prep
• Branch trimming and light batoning
• Cordage cutting, notching, and rope work
• Field repairs and shelter construction
