BCA Tracker S Rescue Package avalanche rescue kit — 270 cm probe & B-1 extension shovel, compact

BCA Tracker S Rescue Package bundles the Tracker S avalanche transceiver with a 270 cm probe and the B-1 extension shovel for fast, reliable backcountry searches and efficient snow excavation.

Built for backcountry skiers, splitboarders, and winter mountaineers who value speed and simplicity in an emergency, this complete rescue package equips you with the core tools needed to locate and dig out avalanche victims quickly. The kit pairs BCA’s compact, beginner-friendly Tracker S transceiver with a robust telescoping probe and a heavy-duty extension shovel so you have a balanced set of search and recovery gear that fits a pack.

How does the Tracker S improve my chances during a companion rescue?

The Tracker S is a single-antenna, easy-to-use transceiver designed for fast one-person searches and intuitive group use. Its clear display and straightforward controls minimize user error when every second counts.

• Numeric distance readout to guide approach
• Auto-revert to receive mode to prevent accidental transmission during search
• Simple marking of found signals to speed multi-victim work

What does the 270 cm probe add to the rescue process?

A long, reliable probe gives you accurate pinpoint localization once the transceiver narrows a signal area. The 270 cm length covers deep burial scenarios and collapses down small for packing convenience.

• Marked depth increments for quick measurement
• Sturdy alloy segments for consistent deployment
• Fast-connecting design to assemble in seconds

Why include the B-1 extension shovel rather than a smaller blade?

The B-1 extension shovel offers a strong blade and longer handle reach to move large volumes of snow faster and ergonomically. It’s designed to pair with the probe and transceiver for complete companion rescue capability.

• Wide blade profile for efficient snow removal
• Telescoping handle for leverage and compact storage
• Durable construction for hard-packed snow and icy conditions

How does this package perform when I’m packing light for a tour?

Every component in the Rescue Package was chosen to balance weight, durability, and functionality so you can carry full rescue capability without excessive bulk. Each piece stows compactly in a touring pack or dedicated avalanche gear pocket.

• Tracker S: small profile, low battery drain
• Probe: collapses into a compact sleeve for easy packing
• Shovel: disassembles to reduce length in the pack

Who is this for: The BCA Tracker S Rescue Package is aimed at recreational backcountry users—skiers, splitboarders, snowmobilers, and mountaineers—who want an approachable, all-in-one companion rescue set. If you prioritize ease of use, reliable locating performance, and durable snow-moving tools that pack down small, this bundle supplies the essentials to perform effective companion rescues while staying nimble on the skin track. Remember to practice with these tools regularly and combine them with avalanche education and current snow-condition awareness.
