Benkey Damascus Folding Knife is a handmade VG10-core, 76-layer Damascus pocket knife with a walnut-style wood handle, liner lock, flipper deployment, and a leather sheath for everyday carry and outdoor use.

This compact, handcrafted folder pairs a 59–60 HRC VG10 steel core and layered Damascus cladding with an ergonomic rosewood handle and a reliable liner-lock mechanism. It’s designed for campers, hikers, collectors and everyday users who want a durable, sharp blade that balances traditional aesthetics with practical features like a pocket clip, ball-bearing flipper, and included leather sheath.

How sharp and durable is the Damascus blade?

The blade combines a VG10 stainless steel core for edge retention and 76-layer Damascus facings for toughness and visual patterning. Heat-treated to about 59–60 HRC, the edge resists dulling during typical outdoor and daily tasks while remaining relatively simple to re-sharpen at home.

• 76-layer Damascus with VG10 core for a resilient edge
• 59–60 HRC hardness for long-lasting sharpness
• High-carbon layers add durability under heavy use
• Suitable for cutting, piercing, light batoning and bushcraft prep

What features make it easy and safe to carry?

Benkey outfitted the folder with a low-profile pocket clip, a liner lock to hold the blade securely open, and a flipper with ball-bearing assist for quick one-handed deployment. The knife weighs about 3.66 ounces and folds to a compact size, so it stows comfortably in pockets or packs and can also be stored in the supplied leather sheath for belt carry or protection.

• Lightweight 3.66 oz for all-day carry
• Sturdy liner lock prevents accidental closure
• Ball-bearing flipper enables smooth one-hand opening
• Classic leather sheath plus pocket clip for versatile carry

How comfortable and reliable is the handle?

The handle is carved from natural rosewood and shaped for ergonomic control, reducing hand fatigue during repetitive use. Textured wood grain and contoured lines enhance grip in both wet and dry conditions while complementing the Damascus blade’s aesthetic appeal.

• Natural rosewood handle for a warm, tactile feel
• Ergonomic contours reduce hand strain during tasks
• Non-slip grip works in wet or dry environments
• Attractive pairing of wood and patterned Damascus steel

What are the knife’s dimensions and typical uses?

With an overall length of about 7.52 inches and a blade length near 3.23 inches, this folder hits the sweet spot between legal EDC size and functional outdoor utility. It’s versatile for camp chores, food preparation, cordage work, and daily cutting tasks while remaining compact enough for urban carry and collecting.
