Helmet Covers Etc. Black Velvet Equestrian Helmet Cover — Stretch Fit for English Helmets, Sleek Matte Finish

Black velvet stretch helmet cover that slips over standard English riding helmets to give a classic, polished look without affecting helmet performance.

Give your riding helmet an elegant, traditional appearance with this black velvet cover from Helmet Covers Etc. Crafted from a soft, flexible stretch velvet, the cover tucks securely around most standard English helmet shells so you can create a refined turnout for lessons, clinics, schooling, or show days. It is a decorative fabric accessory only and does not change the helmet’s safety capabilities.

How will this cover change my helmet’s appearance?

The smooth velvet exterior produces a sleek, matte finish that mirrors the classic look seen in hunter and dressage rings. It conceals scuffs and gives a uniform silhouette so tack and turnout feel more coordinated.

• Deep black velvet surface for a traditional, show-ready look
• Stretch fabric smooths over helmet contours for clean lines
• Hides minor marks and color inconsistencies without altering shape

Will it fit my English riding helmet?

The cover is made from an elastic stretch velvet that conforms to most standard English helmet sizes and shapes. While it accommodates a wide range of helmets, it’s decorative; ensure proper fit of the helmet itself before use.

• Flexible elastic edge for a snug wraparound fit
• Designed for typical hunter, jumper, and dressage helmet profiles
• Lightweight fabric stays in place during normal riding activities

Is it easy to put on and take off between rides?

Yes — the lightweight, stretchy material slips on quickly and can be removed just as easily for storage or cleaning. This makes it practical for riders who want to change looks between schooling and competition.

• Elastic rim stretches for fast on/off application
• Minimal bulk keeps helmet vents and trims accessible
• Machine- or hand-washable fabric for simple maintenance

Does this cover affect helmet safety or performance?

This item is intended only as a decorative fabric cover and does not provide protective properties or modify the helmet’s certified impact performance. Use it strictly as an aesthetic accessory and continue to rely on your helmet’s original safety features.

• Decorative use only — does not add impact protection
• Does not alter internal padding, retention systems, or certification
• Remove cover for any helmet inspection or safety testing

Who this is for: Riders who want a quick, classic upgrade to their English helmet presentation — especially hunter, jumper, and dressage riders preparing for schoolings, clinics, or ring appearances. If you value a traditional velvet finish, easy on/off convenience, and a product that won’t change how your helmet fits or functions, this black stretch cover from Helmet Covers Etc. offers a tasteful, practical solution.
