CamelBak Arete Sling 8 hiking sling pack Deep Teal with breathable 3D Vent Mesh and 1.5L reservoir-ready

Designed for fast-moving hikers and everyday trail users, the Arete Sling 8 combines breathable materials with a compact cross-body layout so you can carry hydration and essentials without bulk. Built from durable recycled fabrics and featuring a ventilating air-mesh back and strap, this sling balances airflow, load management, and quick access to gear. Its small footprint keeps weight close to your center of gravity while offering thoughtful storage for a 1.5L reservoir and on-trail necessities.

How does the Arete Sling 8 keep you cool on warm hikes?

The sling uses a 3D Vent Mesh harness and an air-mesh back panel to create airflow where your body generates the most heat, reducing sweat buildup and improving comfort on longer outings. The strap itself is ventilated so carry pressure doesn’t trap heat against your shoulder.

• 3D Vent Mesh harness improves breathability under load
• Air-mesh back panel enhances ventilation along your spine
• Ventilated shoulder strap reduces hotspot formation

Can it carry hydration and other essentials for a full day out?

Yes—this sling is reservoir-ready and has space for extra items while remaining compact. A shoulder-strap stash pocket fits a 1.5L reservoir, and the double-layer stretch overflow pocket accepts a spare bottle or a light shell for unpredictable conditions.

• Dedicated shoulder-strap stash pocket designed for a 1.5L reservoir
• Stretch overflow pocket for an additional water bottle or jacket
• Internal compartments keep small items organized and secure

Is the sling comfortable to wear for several hours?

The Arete Sling 8 is engineered for extended wear through an ergonomic, lightweight build that distributes weight across the torso rather than relying solely on one shoulder. Adjustable carry options let you swap the sling between the left and right shoulder to relieve pressure and adapt to different activities.

• Lightweight construction reduces fatigue on long routes
• Left/right shoulder carry option for comfort and versatility
• Padded mesh strap cushions against chafing during movement

What kind of durability and materials are used?

The pack uses robust recycled fabrics chosen to withstand abrasion and repeated outdoor use while lowering environmental impact. Reinforced stitching at high-stress points and durable zippers ensure the sling remains reliable across seasons.

• Durable recycled fabric resists wear and abrasions
• Reinforced seams and reliable hardware for long-term use
• Easy-care materials that dry quickly after wet conditions
