CHAMPRO Catcher's Leg Guards, 14.5" Shin, Black — Optimus MVP Single Knee with Cantilever Protection

CHAMPRO Optimus MVP Single Knee Catcher’s Leg Guards are lightweight, high-impact shin guards with a cantilever lining and ventilated foot cap built to protect catchers while maintaining mobility.

Designed for catchers who need dependable protection without adding bulk, the Optimus MVP Single Knee guards combine high-performance polyethylene plates, a shock-dispersing cantilever system, and built-in ventilation to keep players safer and cooler inning after inning. These CG105B guards come in a 14.5" shin length (Senior League) and are finished in black for a clean, professional look. The construction balances flexibility with durability so the gear performs under repeated impacts while remaining comfortable on the field.

How do these guards protect against foul tips and repeated impacts?

The Optimus MVP guards use high-performance polyethylene shin plates paired with a cantilever-shaped lining system that disperses and reduces force before it reaches the catcher’s leg. The polyethylene shell resists cracking and keeps weight down, while the internal cantilever cushions direct blows and spreads shock over a wider area, lowering localized pressure.

• High-performance polyethylene shell for impact resistance and low weight.
• Cantilever-shaped lining that spreads force away from the shin.
• Flexible foot cap that protects the top of the foot from stray balls.
• Durable construction meant for repeated use in game and practice.

Will these leg guards stay comfortable and ventilated during long games?

Yes—the Optimus MVP includes strategically placed ventilation holes to promote airflow and help prevent heat buildup behind the shell. The cantilever lining and flexible materials allow for natural movement at the knee and ankle, reducing pinch points while maintaining protective coverage for extended innings.

• Built-in ventilation holes to increase airflow and reduce heat retention.
• Flexible foot cap and joint areas to allow freer motion and comfort.
• Lightweight design minimizes fatigue during long games or tournaments.
• Smooth interior surfaces reduce chafing against shin and calf padding.

What size is best and how does the 14.5" shin length perform?

The 14.5" shin length is the Senior League option sized to cover the full shin area on most adult catchers while offering a balanced range of motion. CHAMPRO also offers youth (13.5") and T-ball (12") sizes so teams and families can select the appropriate fit for age and height, ensuring proper protection without restricting mobility.

• 14.5" shin length (Senior League) designed for adult and older teen catchers.
• Youth 13.5" and T-ball 12" available for smaller players and younger leagues.
• Select based on shin measurement and comfort when crouched in catching position.
• Simplified sizing reduces the need for aftermarket adjustments.

How durable and easy to maintain are these leg guards?

The Optimus MVP is built from durable polyethylene that resists wear and impact-related damage while retaining flexibility. The simple shell and lining construction make the guards easy to wipe clean after use; regular inspection of straps and fasteners keeps them game-ready season after season.

• High-performance polyethylene resists cracking and deformation.
• Minimal seams and robust straps simplify cleaning and upkeep.
• Replaceable straps and common parts help extend service life.
• Black finish conceals scuffs and maintains a uniform look.
