CRESSI Alpha Ultra Dry snorkel, Black/Black/Black, dry-top silicone with low purge valve

The CRESSI Alpha Ultra Dry is a dry-top snorkeling tube with an automatic float valve, flexible lower bore and low purge valve for easy breathing and fast clearing.

Built in Italy by CRESSI, a long-standing dive-equipment brand, the Alpha Ultra Dry is designed to keep water out of the airway while offering comfortable, low-drag performance for snorkeling and scuba-surface work. Its full-silicone construction, ergonomic mouthpiece and contoured bore prioritize airflow and comfort so you can focus on the reef rather than your gear.

How does the dry-top system protect my airway when I dive under the surface?

The Alpha Ultra Dry uses a float-actuated dry-top that instantly seals the tube the moment it submerges, blocking water entry whether the snorkeler submerges intentionally or by accident. When you resurface the mechanism reopens automatically, so you can breathe normally without forceful clearing.

• Float mechanism closes tube on submersion to prevent water intake.
• Automatically reopens at the surface—no manual reset required.
• Reduces splashing and surface spray from entering the airway.

What makes this snorkel comfortable for long sessions or for scuba divers?

The corrugated flexible lower tube and angled, replaceable silicone mouthpiece reduce jaw strain and let the mouthpiece drop away when not in use—useful during mask clearing or buddy checks. The generous bore and contouring deliver easy breathing with minimal respiratory effort.

• Corrugated flexible tube minimizes jaw fatigue by allowing natural bite position.
• Angled, soft silicone mouthpiece for extended comfort and durability.
• Mouthpiece detaches from the jaw when not required, convenient for divers.

How does the Alpha Ultra Dry help with clearing water quickly?

A lower purge valve is positioned to make clearing simple and effective—exhale sharply and residual water exits through the valve rather than being inhaled. The ample bore works with the purge valve to speed water evacuation while keeping airflow smooth.

• Lower purge valve enables fast, easy clearing with a single exhale.
• Wide, contoured bore promotes unobstructed airflow during heavy breathing.
• Streamlined profile reduces drag so clearing is simpler in currents.

What materials and build details affect longevity and performance?

The snorkel is made entirely from high-grade silicone rather than rigid PVC, which increases comfort and lifespan and resists UV and saltwater degradation. The mouthpiece is removable and replaceable, and the streamlined adjustable clip keeps the snorkel snug to your mask without adding bulk.

• 100% high-quality silicone body and mouthpiece for durability and flexibility.
• Replaceable mouthpiece extends service life and simplifies maintenance.
• Adjustable, low-profile clip reduces drag and keeps the snorkel secure.

It’s a strong choice for recreational snorkelers, freedivers who value quick purge action, and scuba divers needing a mouthpiece that drops away on the surface.
