Deadspin Golf DS Tour Golf Balls, DS Tour - Black, 3-Piece Matte Urethane, 12 Pack, DeadSoft Core

Deadspin Golf DS Tour balls are premium three-piece, matte-urethane golf balls built with a DeadSoft core and a 316 dimple pattern to deliver softer feel, higher launch, and dependable control.

Designed for players who want a modern, high-performance ball without sacrificing playability at moderate swing speeds, the DS Tour blends a soft, mid-compression center with a thermoplastic intermediate layer and a durable urethane cover. The matte finish and 316 dimple layout enhance aerodynamics while the DeadSoft Synthetic Rubber core (75% compression) helps the ball compress easily at impact for longer carry and a controlled feel around the green. Each retail pack contains 12 balls in Matte Black, with other colorways available.

How does the DS Tour improve distance off the tee?

The DS Tour combines a responsive DeadSoft core with an engineered intermediate layer to convert clubhead speed into ball speed more efficiently. The core compresses at a mid-rate, so players with a range of swing speeds get better energy transfer and higher launch angles for added carry.

• 75% DeadSoft core for easier compression and stronger launch
• Thermoplastic polymer layer for increased ball speed
• 316 dimple pattern tuned for reduced drag and longer carry

Will these balls give me more greenside control?

Yes — the cast urethane cover provides improved spin and feedback on iron and wedge shots compared with ionomer-covered distance balls. The multi-layer construction balances spin around the green with softer feel to help you hold approach shots and execute short-game shots with confidence.

• Urethane cover for enhanced spin and shot-stopping ability
• Three-piece design maintains spin on wedge and iron strikes
• Matte finish reduces glare and gives tactile feedback on strikes

Are these balls suitable for slower swing speeds?

Absolutely — the DS Tour’s DeadSoft core is engineered at a mid-compression so it compresses readily at lower and mid swing speeds, producing a softer feel and maximizing distance without sacrificing control. That makes this ball a versatile option for recreational players and many club golfers.

• Mid-compression suitable for a wide range of swing speeds
• Softer feel at impact for better contact feedback
• Consistent performance from tee through green for average swingers

What performance trade-offs should I expect compared to firmer tour balls?

While firmer, high-compression tour balls sometimes show increased spin at extreme swing speeds, the DS Tour prioritizes playability and distance for most golfers. You’ll gain easier compression and a more forgiving feel, with only minimal sacrifice in spin for elite high-speed swingers.

• Designed for balanced distance and feel rather than extreme spin
• Optimized aerodynamic pattern for straighter, higher flight
• Engineered to perform reliably in a variety of playing conditions

Who this is for: The Deadspin Golf DS Tour is built for golfers seeking a modern, all-around performance ball — players who want added carry and a softer in-hand feel without losing greenside workability. It’s a strong choice for casual and competitive players with low to mid swing speeds, those who prefer a matte aesthetic, and anyone who wants a dependable 12-ball pack for range sessions, rounds, and gifting.
