How robust is the blade for cutting and chopping?

The blade is 7.5 inches long, 1.9 inches wide, and 6 mm thick, giving it the mass to handle heavy slicing and light chopping without flex. AUS-10 stainless steel balances edge retention and toughness, while the black stone-wash finish hides wear and reduces glare.

• Blade length: 7.5" (19 cm) with a broad drop/straight profile
• Thickness: 6 mm for strength during batoning and baton work
• Steel: AUS-10 hardened to 59–60 HRC for durability and ease of maintenance
• Finish: black stone-wash for corrosion resistance and low sheen

What makes the handle comfortable and durable in wet conditions?

The two-tone Micarta scales are bonded to the full-tang frame and reinforced with colorful G10 spacers, preventing loosening under heavy use. Micarta is a proven material for outdoor knives because it resists moisture, provides tactile grip, and ages without becoming slick.

• Handle length: 5.4" (14 cm) for positive two-handed control when needed
• Full-tang construction for consistent strength from tip to pommel
• Micarta scales with G10 spacers for aesthetics and stability
• Ergonomic shaping reduces hand fatigue during prolonged tasks

How does the sheath perform for everyday carry and field use?

The supplied Kydex sheath is molded to hold the knife securely with no rattle yet permits quick deployment. Kydex resists heat, moisture, and corrosion, and the sheath offers adjustable belt carry options for vertical, horizontal, or scout-style positioning.

• Material: high-strength imported Kydex—lightweight and heat resistant
• Retention: tight fit with reliable holding for active carry
• Mounting: adjustable clip fits varied belt widths and carry preferences
• Deployment: designed for smooth, fast draw without sacrificing security

What tasks is this knife best suited for during outdoor trips?

With its wide, robust blade and comfortable handle, the EF148 is well-suited for camp chores, shelter construction, food prep, and field repairs. The geometry supports controlled carving as well as heavier utility work, making it a versatile companion for multi-day outings.

• Camp tasks: food prep, firewood baton splitting, and shelter building
• Fieldwork: cutting cordage, trimming branches, and gear maintenance
• Ranch and farm use: general-purpose cutting and utility tasks
