Gonex Snake Gaiters for Men's & Women's Hiking — Adjustable Size, Waterproof 12-Plate Guards

Gonex Snake Gaiters are lightweight, waterproof lower-leg guards with 12 articulated PP plates and 1000D Oxford fabric designed to protect legs during hiking, hunting, and outdoor work.

These chaps combine a segmented, flexible shell with a durable outer fabric to give you puncture-resistant coverage for the shin, calf and ankle while staying comfortable and packable. They secure with adjustable straps, buckles and extra loops to fit calves from 12 to 20 inches, and the waterproof coating keeps moisture out during wet-field use.

How do these gaiters protect against snake bites and rough terrain?

The Gonex design uses twelve individual polypropylene plates under a 1000D Oxford outer layer, which spreads and resists penetration instead of relying on a single stiff sheet. The segmented plates move with your leg, reducing gaps while offering a hard barrier where it matters most.

• 12 articulated PP boards that wrap around the lower leg for layered puncture resistance
• 1000D Oxford fabric provides abrasion resistance and structural support
• Reinforced seams and secure buckles to keep the guards positioned during activity

Are they comfortable and easy to wear for long treks?

Gonex gaiters aim for a balance of protection and comfort by using smaller plates instead of a single rigid sheet, which reduces bulk and pressure points. At just about 13 ounces each and with elastic straps and buckles, they are intended to be breathable and mobile enough for long hikes.

• Segmented plate layout contours to the leg for more natural movement
• Elastic straps and two extra loops allow tension adjustment and a secure fit
• Lightweight construction folds compactly into the included storage bag

Will they fit my calves and different footwear styles?

The adjustable sizing covers calf circumferences from 12 to 20 inches, accommodating most adults and allowing you to tighten or loosen with the straps and buckles for different clothing layers. The lower profile design works over boots or lighter shoes, making them versatile across activities.

• Adjustable range: fits calves 12"–20" (30–51 cm)
• Multiple fastening points ensure a snug fit over layers or directly on skin
• Low-cut ankle area to pair with boots or trail shoes

How do they handle wet conditions and packing for travel?

A waterproof coating on the fabric helps keep your legs dry from splashes and wet vegetation, while the lightweight materials fold easily for transport. They’re designed to be stored in the supplied bag and carried without adding much bulk or weight to your pack.

• Waterproof coating repels moisture from brush, puddles and damp grass
• Weigh only ~13 oz each for easy carrying and minimal pack weight
• Supplied storage bag lets you fold and stow them when not in use

Who is this for? Outdoor enthusiasts, field technicians, land managers and anyone who spends time in snake-prone or rough terrain will find Gonex snake gaiters useful. They suit hikers, hunters, campers and garden or property workers who need a combination of puncture resistance, adjustability and portability without a heavy, rigid shell. If you want leg protection that balances mobility with robust coverage and can be stored easily between trips, these gaiters are designed to meet those needs.
