Acme Klein Bottle is a hand-blown, one-sided glass sculpture that demonstrates a Klein bottle’s continuous surface in clear borosilicate glass.
This handmade glass Klein bottle blends precise glasswork with playful mathematical curiosity. Each piece is hand-blown from low-expansion borosilicate to highlight the continuous, nonorientable surface characteristic of a Klein bottle. It arrives with a removable calibration decal and a short informational insert to explain the geometry and talk-through practical handling tips. Because every bottle is made individually, shape and minor dimensions vary slightly, making each one unique.
The form is a three-dimensional model of the Klein bottle: a closed surface with a single continuous side and no boundary. Unlike ordinary bottles, it connects "inside" to "outside" smoothly so that the surface is nonorientable; topologically it does not separate space into interior and exterior volumes. The surface visually conveys mathematical concepts without needing any assembly.
The bottle measures roughly 8 inches tall with about a 4-inch diameter (approx. 20 x 10 cm) and weighs near 8 ounces (≈230 g). Borosilicate glass is chosen for its thermal stability and relative durability compared with ordinary glass, but the piece is still a delicate, decorative sculpture and should be handled with care. Avoid dropping or striking it; store on a stable surface or display stand.
The form allows liquid to be poured and to flow, but the Klein bottle’s continuous surface and narrow necks make thorough drying and cleaning difficult. It is primarily intended as a mathematical model and decorative object rather than a practical vessel for frequent liquid use. If you choose to introduce liquid for demonstration, do so cautiously and accept that residual moisture may remain inside.
Each Klein bottle ships with a removable calibration decal and a short informational sheet that explains the topology and practical handling. Because these are individually hand-blown, small differences in curvature, wall thickness, and exact scale are expected and intentional—the variations are part of the handcrafted appeal. The clear glass finish highlights the shape and refractive lines of the glasswork.
Who is this for? This Acme Klein Bottle is ideal for math and physics enthusiasts, educators, collectors of scientific curiosities, programmers and students who enjoy tactile demonstrations of abstract concepts, and anyone who appreciates artisanal glass. It works well as a classroom prop, study-room accent, or thoughtful gift for a scientist or teacher—just keep in mind it’s a sculptural model first and an occasional demonstration vessel second.
Q: Is the Klein bottle safe to wash?
A: Gentle rinsing is fine, but internal drying is difficult; avoid dishwashers and abrasive cleaning.
Q: Does each Klein bottle look exactly the same?
A: No—each is hand-blown, so small variations in shape and curvature make every piece unique.
