Harrison Howard All-Purpose GP Saddle Pad, Navy, Suede Outer with Breathable Poly-Cotton — Contoured, Moderate Wither

The Harrison Howard All-Purpose Saddle Pad is a contoured GP pad with suede outer fabric and breathable poly-cotton blend that cushions, wicks moisture, and secures to your saddle for everyday riding.

This general-purpose (GP) saddle pad from Harrison Howard combines durable suede with a ventilating poly-cotton interior to give horses comfortable cushioning and riders a tidy, slip-resistant fit. Designed to mirror the horse’s topline and saddle shape, the pad provides moderate wither clearance and even weight distribution while remaining versatile enough for schooling, hacking, and light jumping.

How does this saddle pad protect my horse’s back during regular rides?

The pad’s generous central thickness and contoured profile spread the rider’s weight across a broader surface, reducing pressure points beneath the saddle. Breathable materials help move sweat away from the horse to reduce hot spots and rubbing.

• Thicker midsection for extra cushioning under the saddle tree.
• Moderate wither profile to avoid direct pressure on the spine.
• Poly-cotton blend that wicks moisture and improves airflow.
• Suede outer layer resists abrasion and keeps the pad stable beneath the saddle.

Will it stay in place during schooling or jumping sessions?

The pad includes a practical securing system and reinforced girth area to prevent slipping and bunching. These details make the pad suitable for dynamic movements and general schooling where secure tack is essential.

• Touch-tape (hook-and-loop) attachments to anchor the pad to saddle billets.
• Covered girth patch for extra wear protection where the girth contacts the pad.
• Sculpted front and back edges that taper to reduce interference with the rider’s leg and saddle panels.

How does the fit work with different saddles and horse shapes?

Shaped as a general-purpose pad, this design balances a universal contour with specific features to fit many horses and saddle types. It accommodates both all-purpose and jumping saddles while giving moderate clearance over the withers.

• Contoured to follow the horse’s topline and align with common saddle trees.
• Tapered fore and aft edges to reduce bulk under the saddle flaps.
• Moderate wither height suitable for most horses without excessive bulk.
• Available in standard GP sizing to pair with most general-purpose and jumping saddles.

What materials and care features make this pad low maintenance?

The pad pairs a robust suede outer fabric with a poly-cotton interior for durability and easy care. The combination offers long wear life while helping to control moisture and odor between washes.

• High-grade suede outer for abrasion resistance and a neat finish.
• Poly-cotton blend inside for breathability and moisture management.
• Durable construction around high-wear zones like the girth area.
• Machine- or gentle-wash friendly materials (follow care label instructions).
