Hooyman MegaBite Hunter's Combo two-blade saw kit with 8" wood & bone blades, telescoping 9.5–17" handle and nylon sheath

The Hooyman MegaBite Hunter’s Combo is a compact, two-blade outdoor saw kit that swaps quickly between an aggressive wood blade and a bone-cutting blade for reliable field processing.

This kit pairs two 8-inch XP MegaBite SK5 blades with a sturdy, over-molded handle, a locking telescoping shaft, and a nylon sheath — a ready-to-go solution for hunters, campers, and backcountry processors who need a lightweight, durable saw that performs on both wood and bone. The blades use impulse-hardening and a four-edge tooth profile to extend cutting life and reduce clogging, while the collapsible design keeps pack weight minimal.

How does the MegaBite Combo handle both wood and bone without swapping tools?

The system includes two dedicated 8" XP blades — one ground for fast wood cutting and one shaped for bone and meat — and a single handle that accepts either blade in seconds. A simple interchangeable mounting lets you change blades in the field without specialized tools, so you can move from trail work to dressing game quickly.

• Comes with an 8" MegaBite XP wood blade and an 8" MegaBite XP bone blade
• Quick-release interchange mechanism for fast swaps
• Nylon sheath keeps spare blade protected and transportable

How durable and sharp are the blades for repeated outdoor use?

Blades are made from high-carbon SK5 steel and receive impulse hardening to increase edge retention and resist chipping. The MegaBite four-edge tooth pattern is engineered to maintain aggressive cutting performance over many uses while reducing clogging from tissue or sap.

• High-carbon SK5 steel construction for toughness
• Impulse-hardened teeth for longer life and sharper cuts
• 4-edge tooth geometry for efficient chip removal and reduced binding

What features make the handle and shaft practical in the field?

The telescoping shaft extends to 17 inches for extra reach and collapses to 9.5 inches for compact storage, while two positive locking positions add stability during demanding cuts. The ergonomically over-molded handle delivers a secure, comfortable grip in wet or cold conditions and is balanced for controlled slicing when paired with either blade.

• Extends to 17" and collapses to 9.5" for transport convenience
• Two locking positions for safe, steady cutting
• Double over-molded handle for comfort and slip resistance

How easy is it to carry, maintain, and service this saw kit?

The combo ships with a durable nylon sheath that secures spare blades and protects other gear, and the low 0.9 lb weight keeps pack load light. Routine upkeep is straightforward: wipe blades after use, dry thoroughly, and apply light oil to prevent rust. Hooyman supports the product with a Limited Lifetime Warranty for added confidence.

• Includes nylon sheath for safe transport and blade storage
• Lightweight design at approximately 0.9 lbs for easy carrying
• Simple cleaning and oiling recommended; backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty
