Howies Tacky Wax Hockey Stick Wax 3-Pack — Sticky, High-Performance Grip for Tape

Howies Tacky Wax 3-Pack is a high-performance, sticky wax that boosts grip and control on hockey stick tape for cleaner puck handling and more consistent shots.

Made in Michigan, Howies Tacky Wax delivers a purpose-built tackiness designed for on-ice use by players who want predictable feel without messy residue. Packaged in durable tins for easy carry and application, this three-pack gives you multiple tins to keep in your bag, at home, or as backups. The formula is built to cling to tape, leather, and synthetic blade covers so you can maintain reliable puck contact through games and practices.

How will this wax change my puck control and stick feel?

Applying a thin layer of Howies Tacky Wax increases surface friction between the puck and your taped blade, helping the puck sit more securely on your stick during dekes, passes, and shots. Players report more confident stickhandling and cleaner release because the puck is less likely to slip on contact. The effect is immediate after application and consistent across a range of temperatures.

• Creates a tacky surface that improves puck bite and feel
• Reduces slip on quick stickhandling and one-touch passes
• Maintains grip through multiple practices before reapplication

How do I apply Howies Tacky Wax for best results?

Application is simple: open the tin, rub the wax lightly across the tape or blade, and spread it evenly with your fingers or a cloth. A little goes a long way—start with a thin coat and add more if you need stronger tack. The tin design keeps the wax neat and portable so you can touch up between periods or during intermissions.

• Apply a thin, even layer using fingers or a soft cloth
• Focus on the blade’s sweet spot and taped areas that contact the puck
• Reapply sparingly when tack begins to fade, typically after several sessions

Does the wax leave residue or affect tape durability?

Howies formulates this wax to cling to tape without excessive flaking or greasy residue so it won’t overly soil gloves or puck-handling areas. It’s compatible with cloth and synthetic tapes; when used properly it does not significantly degrade tape life. If you prefer minimal buildup, wipe the blade lightly after heavy use and reapply as needed.

• Designed to minimize transferable residue to gloves and pucks
• Works on cloth and synthetic tape without accelerating wear
• Simple cleanup: wipe off with a cloth if buildup occurs
