The KUU Pro-Fix Ski & Snowboard Base Repair Kit is a complete 120V P-Tex welding system that lets you perform durable, shop-quality base repairs at home.
If your skis or snowboard have scratches, gouges, or base-weld failures, you no longer need to wait for a shop appointment. The KUU Pro-Fix kit combines a purpose-built repair iron that reaches about 430°F with four P-Tex Slick Sticks (two black, two clear) to melt and fuse polyethylene repair material directly into damaged areas. The iron’s heat profile and shape are designed to help the P-Tex flow smoothly and adhere reliably, while the color options help you blend repairs with different base tones. After cooling, simply scrape, file, and wax for a restored glide surface.
The Pro-Fix iron provides controlled, higher-temperature heat and a contact surface shaped for base work, which promotes even melting and better adhesion than hand-held candles or lighters. It reduces the risk of uneven blobs and speeds up the repair process for larger gouges.
The kit ships with four Slick Sticks—two black and two clear—so you can choose between hiding repairs on dark bases or filling without visible pigment on lighter bases. For complex color matches, you can layer or mix small amounts of other P-Tex colours if needed.
Good results come from clean prep, controlled melting, and proper finishing. Clean the damaged area, weld the P-Tex with the iron so it fills the void, let it cool fully, then level and wax the base for restored glide and protection.
The Pro-Fix kit integrates with common tuning toolsets and works on most polyethylene bases across ski and snowboard types, so it’s useful alongside your iron, scrapers, files, and waxes. It’s suitable for small shop setups as well as at-home workshops.
Who is this for: The KUU Pro-Fix Ski & Snowboard Base Repair Kit is aimed at riders and technicians who want professional-grade base welding without frequent shop visits—home tuners, race techs, rental shops, and avid skiers or snowboarders who maintain their own gear. If you regularly maintain multiple skis or boards, repair occasional rock damage, or prepare equipment for racing and backcountry use, this kit provides the heat, materials, and control needed for reliable, long-lasting P-Tex repairs.
