McDavid Rival 5‑Pad Padded Compression Football Shirt, Black, Size Large, Lightweight High‑Density Foam

McDavid Rival Integrated Padded Football Shirt is a lightweight, five‑pad compression undershirt that protects the shoulders, ribs and spine while fitting comfortably under shoulder pads.

This padded compression top is built for football players who want streamlined protection without added bulk. The Rival shirt uses high‑density foam where impact matters and a moisture‑managing fabric that stays wearable throughout practices and games. Reinforced seams and machine‑washable materials make it a dependable layer for athletes who need coverage, durability, and a secure fit under equipment.

How does the Rival shirt protect key impact zones?

The shirt incorporates five targeted pads positioned to shield the spinal column, each shoulder and both rib cages. High‑density foam disperses force across the pad surface while the compression fit keeps the padding aligned with the body so coverage stays in place during movement.

• Five integrated pads for spine, shoulders and ribs
• High‑density foam to resist wear and absorb blows
• Compression fit minimizes pad shift under shoulder pads

Will this undershirt stay comfortable through a full season?

Comfort is addressed by a lightweight fabric and reinforced flatlock seams that reduce chafing and improve longevity. The material wicks moisture and the 6‑thread seam construction provides strength where repeated contact and washing would typically cause failure.

• Lightweight, breathable fabric for all‑day wear
• 6‑thread flatlock seams for reduced irritation and durability
• Machine washable for easy care after practices and games

How does the shirt fit under shoulder pads and other gear?

Designed as a compression layer, the Rival shirt sits close to the body so it fits naturally beneath shoulder pads and jerseys without bunching. The slim profile preserves the athlete’s range of motion while maintaining padding coverage in key zones.

• Compression design ensures snug, low‑profile fit
• Padded zones aligned to fit under standard shoulder pads
• Flexible foam and stretch fabric move with you for full mobility

What care steps keep the padding and seams in good shape?

Maintenance is straightforward: wash cold with mild detergent and tumble dry low. Avoid bleach and dry cleaning to preserve foam integrity and seam strength over many cycles.

• Machine wash cold with mild detergent
• Do not bleach; do not dry clean
• Tumble dry low heat to protect foam and seams

Who is this for? It suits athletes who wear shoulder pads and need added confidence over the ribs and spine, players looking for a durable, easy‑care undershirt, and coaches outfitting teams that need consistent, low‑profile protection across a roster.
