MorningRo Folding Grapnel Kayak Anchor Kit — Green 1.5 lb, 40 ft Rope & Buoy, Compact Corrosion-Resistant

The MorningRo Folding Grapnel Anchor Kit is a compact, corrosion-resistant kayak anchoring system with a 1.5 lb folding grapnel, 40 ft marine rope, buoy, and padded storage bag for small boats, kayaks, paddleboards and canoes.

When you need a lightweight, stowable anchor that won’t eat into limited kayak space, this kit brings a complete solution: a foldable galvanized grapnel, extra-long rope, bright marker buoy and handy accessories packed into a padded nylon bag. The parts are chosen for small-vessel convenience—easy to deploy, easy to recover, and built to resist freshwater and saltwater exposure.

How does the folding grapnel stay compact in a kayak hatch?

The anchor’s four grapnel arms collapse inward so the unit reduces to a slim profile that fits most kayak storage compartments. A sliding ring locks the arms in place when deployed and keeps them neatly folded for transport.

• Folded dimensions: approximately 12 x 3 inches for easy stowage
• Sliding ring mechanism secures open or closed positions
• Padded nylon bag prevents scratches to boat surfaces
• Lightweight 1.5 lb anchor minimizes added load

What’s included and how do I rig it for better holding power?

The kit supplies everything needed to anchor and retrieve: the folding grapnel, a 40 ft marine rope, a bright buoy, stainless snap hook, zip ties and a storage bag. For improved horizontal resistance, let out more line so the anchor sets at a low angle and the grapnel teeth bite into the bottom.

• One 1.5 lb galvanized grapnel anchor
• 40 ft durable marine rope for flexible scope
• High-visibility buoy and stainless steel snap hook for quick hookup
• Zip ties and padded storage bag for neat organization

Is this anchor suitable for saltwater and repeated use?

The anchor body is made from galvanized iron with an electro-galvanized surface to reduce rust and corrosion in both fresh and saltwater environments. Routine rinsing after saltwater use and storing the kit dry will extend hardware life and keep moving parts operating smoothly.

• Electro-galvanized finish resists water erosion
• Stainless steel snap hook limits corrosion at the connection point
• Bright buoy helps locate the anchor quickly if it drifts
• Easy to inspect and maintain with freshwater rinse

How do I deploy and retrieve the grapnel safely?

To deploy, slide the ring up, open the four grapnel arms until fully extended, slide the ring down and lock. When retrieving, use the buoy or rope to pull the anchor free and fold the arms before stowing in the bag; avoid yanking the rope to preserve the knot and hardware.

• Slide ring up to fold or down to lock arms
• Let out ample rope to allow the anchor to set horizontally
• Use the buoy marker to find and retrieve the anchor position
• Stow in the padded bag to prevent abrasion to boat surfaces
