MSR DynaLock Ascent Foldable Carbon Trekking Poles, Large, Kevlar-Reinforced, Compact 44.5 cm

MSR DynaLock Ascent poles are ultralight, foldable kevlar-reinforced carbon trekking poles with a tool-free DynaLock length adjustment, designed for fast ascents and compact carry in alpine packs.

Lightweight strength and compact stowage make these poles a practical choice for snowshoers, mountaineers, splitboarders and backcountry skiers who need gear that deploys quickly, adjusts securely and fits inside small travel bags. The three-piece folding design collapses to a travel-friendly length while the Kevlar reinforcement keeps the carbon fiber shaft resistant to impact. With 20 cm of tool-free adjustment and an on-the-fly tension control, the DynaLock mechanism lets you dial in a no-slip clamping force when conditions demand security.

How do these poles save space for alpine travel?

The folding three-piece build reduces packed length dramatically so the poles fit inside alpine or travel packs. Collapsed, Large poles are 44.5 cm (17.5 inches), short enough for internal storage or overhead luggage compartments.

• Collapsed length: 44.5 cm (17.5 in) in Large size
• Lightweight material keeps pack weight low: 18 oz (0.50 kg)
• Durable hinge fittings that deploy quickly on the trail

What makes the DynaLock adjustment reliable in the backcountry?

DynaLock provides 20 cm of length range with a tool-free tensioning cap so you can tighten the clamp without tools. The mechanism resists slipping under load, enabling quick changes between steep and mellow angles without sacrificing hold.
