MSR Guardian Replacement Cartridge — OEM Purifier Filter, 10,000+ L Capacity, Made in USA

The MSR Guardian replacement cartridge is the factory replacement filter element that restores your Guardian purifier’s high flow and long-life contaminant protection for up to 10,000+ liters.

If your MSR Guardian water purifier pump is slowing or you need to return it to factory performance, this OEM replacement cartridge revives the unit’s rated flow and filtration capacity. Built to the same specifications as the original, the cartridge is made in the USA and covered by a limited three-year manufacturer warranty. It’s engineered for high-throughput field use and intended to fit directly into the Guardian military-grade purifier pump housing.

How does swapping the MSR Guardian cartridge affect flow and performance?

Replacing a used cartridge brings the purifier back to its designed flow rate and filtration efficiency. With a fresh cartridge installed, expect the Guardian to move water at roughly 2.5 liters per minute under normal operating conditions, assuming no external flow restrictions.

• Restores manufacturer-rated flow around 2.5 L/min
• Reduces clogging and improves pump efficiency
• Returns contaminant-control capability to original specs

What contaminants does the replacement cartridge handle?

This replacement cartridge is engineered to capture a broad range of biological and physical impurities. When used as intended, the filter media targets viruses, bacteria, protozoa, and visible particulates such as sediment and dirt, maintaining the purifier’s comprehensive contaminant reduction profile.

• Designed to block viruses and bacteria
• Effective against protozoa and microscopic organisms
• Traps particulates, including sand and silt

How long will one cartridge last in real-world use?

The cartridge is rated for performance up to and beyond 10,000 liters of treated water, though actual life depends on source water quality and usage patterns. Heavier sediment or continuous turbidity will shorten service life, while clear sources extend it.

• Rated for 10,000+ liters under typical conditions
• Actual lifespan varies with water turbidity and contaminant load
• Regular inspection and replacement preserve flow and protection

Is this cartridge covered by any warranty and where is it made?

The replacement cartridge carries MSR’s limited three-year warranty from the manufacturer and is produced in the United States. Keeping documentation of purchase helps if you need warranty support.

• Manufacturer’s limited 3-year warranty included
• Manufactured in the USA to MSR specifications
• OEM part designed for direct fit in Guardian pumps

Who is this for: This replacement cartridge is intended for owners of the MSR Guardian military-grade water purifier pump who need to restore original flow and filtration capacity. It’s a practical choice for expedition leaders, search-and-rescue teams, military units, emergency-preparedness kits, and serious backcountry travelers who require a durable, high-throughput replacement element made to factory tolerances.
