O'Brien Youth Flex V-Back life jacket, Aqua, Youth Small (55-75lbs) — USCG Type III, flexible fit

The O'Brien Youth Small Flex V-Back CGA Life Jacket (55–75 lbs) is a USCG Type III-approved, flexible, lightweight vest designed for kids who need a full range of motion on the water.

This youth life jacket combines O'Brien's adult V-back design scaled for smaller bodies, using segmented panels, a split V-back stretch panel and wide armholes so children can move freely while staying secure. The biotite outer material is lighter than traditional neoprene, dries faster, and feels soft against the skin. A full front zipper plus two concealed adjustable belts make it simple to put on and tighten for a reliable fit every outing.

How does this life jacket keep kids comfortable during long days on the water?

The vest focuses on unrestricted movement and soft contact points. Segmented flotation panels and multiple hinge points let the fabric bend with the body rather than restrict it. Wide armholes and a v-shaped back improve shoulder mobility for paddling, swimming, or boarding.

• Split V-back stretch panel that wraps the torso for a more natural fit
• Segmented panels with multiple hinges to follow active movement
• Soft biotite outer for lighter feel and quicker drying
• Wide armholes for uninhibited arm motion

Is the O'Brien Youth Flex V-Back easy to size and adjust?

Yes — the jacket is built to be simple to put on and to fine-tune for a snug, secure fit. A full-length front zipper allows quick entry and exit, while two concealed adjustable belts with quick-release buckles secure the vest and let you adapt the fit as your child grows.

• Full front zip closure for fast on/off
• Two concealed adjustable belts with quick-release buckles
• Designed specifically for 55–75 lb body weights (youth small)
• Contours to the body for a tailored fit without bulk

What safety and approval standards does this life jacket meet?

This model is U.S. Coast Guard approved as a Type III personal flotation device suitable for recreational boating activities. It provides buoyancy appropriate for the specified weight range and incorporates design features that help keep the child comfortable and properly supported while in the water.

• U.S. Coast Guard Type III approval for 55–75 lbs
• Designed to balance freedom of movement with required flotation
• Durable construction to withstand regular recreational use

How should parents care for and store this life jacket?

Care is straightforward: rinse with fresh water after salt or chlorinated use and hang to dry away from direct sunlight. Regularly inspect straps, buckles, zipper, and seams for wear and replace the jacket if flotation is compromised.

• Rinse and air-dry; avoid machine drying or heat sources
• Store in a cool, dry place out of prolonged UV exposure
• Check hardware and seams before each season
