OMGear waterproof dry bag backpack, Light Blue2, 40L roll-top floating pack with padded straps for kayaking and boating

The OMGear 40L waterproof dry bag backpack is a roll-top, PVC-coated floating dry sack with padded straps and a sealed phone pouch to keep gear bone-dry during paddling and outdoor adventures.

Built from heavy-duty 500D PVC tarpaulin with vinyl coating and a reinforced ABS+PVC phone pouch, this 40-liter dry backpack is designed to resist water, abrasion and rough handling on boats, rivers and trails. The roll-up closure creates a watertight barrier, while the buoyant construction lets the pack float if it falls in. Padded, adjustable shoulder straps and a wipe-clean exterior make it practical for full-day trips where keeping clothes, electronics and essentials dry matters.

How does the roll-top seal keep water out?

Sealing is achieved by rolling the top down tightly 3–5 times and fastening the buckle, creating a compression barrier that prevents water entry. Properly rolled and checked for trapped air, the bag will float and keep the inside dry even in splashes or brief submersion.

• Roll the woven tape 3–5 times to create a watertight seal
• Ensure a little trapped air remains to test flotation
• Clip the buckle to lock the roll in place during use

What materials and durability features protect my gear?

The pack uses rugged 500D PVC tarpaulin with a vinyl coating to resist tears, abrasion and punctures common in marine and outdoor settings. The phone pouch combines ABS and PVC with a reinforced entry so smaller electronics can be protected without compromising usability.

• 500D PVC tarpaulin resists rips and UV fading
• Vinyl-coated finish wipes clean and slows water absorption
• ABS+PVC phone pouch with reinforced entry secures smartphones

How comfortable is it to carry on long trips?

Adjustable shoulder straps and a contoured back help distribute weight for day trips or longer outings. For the 30L and 40L sizes, OMGear fits EVA-padded straps that add comfort and durability for heavier loads.

• Adjustable straps fit most body sizes
• EVA padding on larger sizes reduces shoulder pressure
• Slim silhouette helps maintain balance on boats or boards

How should I care for and use the dry bag to maintain performance?

Cleaning and storage are simple: rinse or wipe the smooth vinyl finish and allow the bag to fully dry before stowing to avoid mildew. Always roll the top firmly when the bag is dry and periodically inspect seams and closures for wear.

• Wipe with fresh water after salt use and air dry fully inside out
• Inspect seams and buckles before each trip
• Store loosely rolled or hung in a cool, dry place to preserve materials
