PETZL OK Oval Aluminum Carabiner, Key Lock Green, Symmetrical H‑Profile Non‑Lock Anti‑Snag

The Petzl OK is a symmetrical, non-lock aluminum carabiner designed to keep ropes and equipment centered for reliable, low-profile connections. The Petzl OK Oval Aluminum Carabiner in green is built for work-at-height and rope-access professionals who need a lightweight, balanced connector that limits twisting and snagging. Forged from aluminum with an H-profile cross-section and a Keylock gate interface, this oval carabiner positions pulleys, rope clamps and energy-absorbing devices naturally in-line while minimizing bulk and wear.

How does the oval shape influence gear alignment?

The symmetric oval geometry helps hardware sit centered on the carabiner axis, reducing asymmetric loading and unwanted rotation. That makes it easier to attach pulleys, crolls, or fall-arrest devices in a neat, predictable orientation.

• Symmetrical profile keeps equipment aligned and balanced
• Reduces side-loading risks by discouraging off-center placements
• Compatible with common rope-access and rescue devices

What anti-snag features prevent accidental catches?

The Keylock-style gate-to-body junction eliminates a pronounced notch, so the carabiner won’t easily catch on slings, bolts or rope during maneuvers. Combined with a smooth, fluid interior shape, clipping and unclipping is more reliable in busy, technical environments.

• Snag-free Keylock interface for clean connections
• Fluid interior reduces potential catch points
• Facilitates fast, secure clipping even in constrained spaces

Why does the H-profile matter for weight and durability?

The H-shaped cross section concentrates metal where strength is needed while trimming excess weight elsewhere, delivering a strong but lightweight connector. It also protects stamped markings from wearing off and helps maintain structural stiffness under load.

• Optimizes strength-to-weight for professional use
• Increases rigidity without adding unnecessary mass
• Protects stamped identification and ratings from abrasion

Which locking options are available and why choose non-lock?

Petzl OK carabiners come in multiple locking variants—Screw-Lock, Triact-Lock and Ball-Lock—so you can match the connector to your task’s safety practices. The non-lock (plain gate) version is faster to clip and unclasp when lockable security isn’t required, or when it’s used in systems where a secondary locking method is applied.

• Screw-Lock for controlled manual locking
• Triact-Lock and Ball-Lock for automatic locking convenience
• Non-lock for quick operations or integration into locked systems

Who is this for This Petzl OK Oval Aluminum Carabiner suits rope-access technicians, rescue teams, riggers and any climber or worker who needs a compact, symmetrical connector that reduces twisting and snagging. Choose the green non-lock variant when you prioritize fast clipping and a low-profile shape, while relying on system redundancy or task-specific protocols for safety locking.

FAQ

Q: Is the Petzl OK suitable for pulleys and rope clamps?

A: Yes. Its symmetrical oval profile helps pulleys and rope clamps sit centered and rotate freely, improving system alignment.

Q: Can I use the non-lock version in professional systems?

A: Yes—if your workflow includes a secondary locking method or the task allows plain-gate connectors for faster clipping.
