Purple Dragon D2 Fixed Blade Survival Knife, Gray, 3.3 inch Drop-Point with G10 Handle and Kydex Sheath

The Purple Dragon fixed blade is a full-tang D2 steel survival knife with a drop-point blade, textured G10 handle and a secure Kydex sheath built for heavy outdoor use.

This rugged knife blends workshop-grade materials and field-minded design so you can rely on a single tool for campsite chores, prep work, and emergency tasks. Forged from one solid billet of D2 tool steel, it pairs long-lasting edge retention with a robust drop-point profile for predictable control. The full-tang construction and overmolded G10 scales deliver stable grip and leverage, while the custom Kydex sheath protects the blade and mounts quietly to belts or packs.

How does the blade construction hold up to demanding tasks?

The blade comes from a single piece of D2 tool steel, avoiding welded joints that create weak spots. D2 is chosen for durability and wear resistance so the edge lasts through batoning, carving, and repeated field use. Each blade is laser-tested for hardness and inspected by hand to ensure consistent grind and finish quality.

• Single-billet D2 tool steel resists wear and keeps an edge longer
• Drop-point geometry balances tip strength with slicing performance
• Laser hardness verification and veteran hand inspection for quality

What features improve grip, control, and retention?

The knife is full tang, which channels shock through the steel rather than the handle, enabling safer chopping and prying. Overmolded G10 scales provide a mapped anti-slip texture that holds in wet or sweaty conditions. A rear ring gives extra wrist retention and a pinky lock option for secure handling or quick tethering.

• Full-tang profile for maximum strength and balance
• G10 handle with precision texture for sure grip in all conditions
• Rear ring for added retention, tethering, and control

How does the Kydex sheath protect and carry the knife?

The included Kydex sheath is molded to the blade for a crisp, audible retention click and near-silent draw. Unlike soft sheaths, this rigid shell shields the edge from impacts and moisture while keeping the knife secure on belts, packs, or MOLLE webbing. Low profile hardware makes mounting quick, and the sheath’s design prevents rattling during movement.

• Rigid Kydex molding for secure, silent retention
• Protects blade edge and reduces moisture exposure
• Compact attachment options for belt, pack, or MOLLE carry

What quality checks and extras come with the knife?

Each Purple Dragon knife is laser-verified for hardness and grind uniformity, then hand-checked by an experienced outdoorsman for burrs and finish. The knife ships in a presentable gift box, making it suitable for gifting to hobbyists, field professionals, and collectors. This inspection routine aims to deliver both durability and consistent fit-and-finish.

• Laser hardness testing and grind verification
• Veteran hand inspection for burrs and finish imperfections
• Gift-ready packaging included
