The Pyle PMP48IR is a portable 40-watt megaphone bullhorn with siren, recording function, auxiliary input and up to 1000-yard projection for events, coaching, and safety uses.

This compact PA megaphone combines powerful output with practical controls so you can make announcements, lead crowds, or signal during drills. Lightweight and designed for handheld use, it includes a detachable microphone, adjustable volume, and a siren mode. The unit accepts an auxiliary audio source, supports recorded messages, and runs on common D-cell batteries for field-ready reliability.

How far will the Pyle megaphone carry my voice?

The PMP48IR is engineered to project intelligible speech across open areas and crowded event spaces. With a 40-watt amplifier and focused horn design, it can reach audiences at long distances when used in outdoor settings. Actual range depends on ambient noise and surroundings, but you should expect reliable coverage across large fields and parking-lot environments.

• 40 watts of acoustic power for strong vocal projection
• Designed horn geometry to direct sound efficiently
• Rated for up to 1000 yards under ideal conditions

What controls and features help manage announcements?

Controls are straightforward: volume adjustment, talk/siren switching, and a record/playback option for pre-recorded messages. The detachable handheld microphone gives you directional control for clear announcements, while the 3.5mm auxiliary jack lets you play external audio. A carrying strap and ergonomic grip make extended use comfortable.

• Detachable microphone with push-to-talk convenience
• Siren mode for attention-grabbing alerts with separate volume control
• Aux-in jack for music or prerecorded cues
• Record and playback function for quick repeated messages

How is the unit powered and how portable is it?

The megaphone operates on six D-cell batteries, offering field flexibility without needing a wall outlet. Its lightweight construction and carrying strap make it easy to transport to events, practices, or emergency positions. For stationary use you can pair it with a stable surface, but its design is optimized for handheld mobility.

• Runs on six standard D batteries for simple replacement
• Lightweight housing and ergonomic grip reduce handler fatigue
• Shoulder strap for hands-free carrying between uses

What situations is the siren and recording function best suited for?

The built-in siren provides an immediate, attention-getting tone for crowd control or safety drills. The recording capability is useful for repeating standard announcements—like lineup calls or safety instructions—without re-speaking them each time. Together these features speed communication at sports events, rehearsals, or emergency drills.

• Siren mode for quick audible alerts during drills or incidents
• Record messages for repeated announcements at events
• Auxiliary input for playing cues or music between announcements
