Climbing Technology Quick Step Foot Ascender — Right-Foot Orange, Self-Cleaning Cam Alloy

The Climbing Technology Quick Step is a right-foot foot ascender that speeds and eases rope climbing when paired with a chest ascender or ascender handle.

Designed for professionals and experienced recreational climbers, this orange right-foot ascender combines a compact alloy body with an integrated cam and opening lever to make repeated rope ascents smoother and more efficient. It fits over boot lacing and secures to webbing that you adjust for the correct angle, while a self-cleaning cam keeps performance reliable on dirty or icy ropes.

How does the Quick Step simplify rope ascent?

The Quick Step transfers part of the upward motion to your foot, reducing fatigue in your arms and allowing a more efficient rhythm when climbing a fixed rope. Its cam engages the rope on each upward step and releases when you lower the foot, enabling a step-and-stand progression.

• Integrated cam/lever system built into the ascender body for compact operation
• Opening lever lets you keep the device open to insert the rope quickly
• Fully adjustable webbing secures the ascender in the optimal boot position

Will it work on dirty or icy ropes?

Yes — the Quick Step uses a self-cleaning cam that helps eject grit, ice, and debris so the cam continues to engage reliably. That feature reduces the chance of sticking and maintains smoother movement in adverse conditions.

• Self-cleaning cam design expels contaminants during operation
• Alloy construction resists cold and abrasion for longer life
• Reinforced lower side with tubular webbing reduces wear where boots contact the unit

How do you attach and adjust the Quick Step to your boot?

Attach the ascender to your right boot using the adjustable webbing provided, then position it so the cam aligns with the rope path for natural stepping motion. The webbing length is adjustable to accommodate different boot sizes and preferred foot placement.

• Fully adjustable webbing for precise positioning on a wide range of boots
• Reinforcement at the lower side protects against abrasion from boot contact
• Orange color improves visibility during maintenance and rigging checks

What safety and compatibility considerations should I know?

The Quick Step is intended to be used as part of a rope-ascending system with a chest ascender or ascender handle and appropriate harness. It is not a standalone fall-arrest device; follow manufacturer instructions and industry best practices for rigging and inspection before each use.

• Designed for use with fixed ropes and a complementary chest or handle ascender
• Constructed from durable alloy for consistent load-bearing performance
• Equipped with an opening lever to prevent accidental rope slippage when inserting rope

Who is this for? The Climbing Technology Quick Step Foot Ascender (right foot, orange) is aimed at rope-access technicians, arborists, rescue professionals and experienced climbers who need a durable, efficient right-foot ascender for repetitive rope ascents. If you routinely climb fixed lines or perform work at height and already use a compatible chest ascender or handle, this device adds mechanical advantage and reduces upper-body strain, while its self-cleaning cam and reinforced contact areas extend reliable service life in dirty or icy environments.
