The Retrospec Rowan mountain bike helmet is a lightweight adult helmet with EPS foam, an in-mold polycarbonate shell, 14 ventilation ports, and an adjustable ErgoKnob plus removable visor for trail-ready protection and comfort.

Engineered for everyday trail riding and longer outings, the Rowan blends core protective elements with practical comfort features. Its dense EPS foam liner and bonded polycarbonate shell absorb and disperse impact while the fourteen vents keep airflow moving on climbs and descents. The ErgoKnob fit system lets you fine-tune the sizing, and washable interior pads plus a detachable visor keep the helmet feeling fresh ride after ride.

How does the Rowan helmet protect my head on rough trails?

This helmet uses an energy-absorbing EPS foam liner paired with an in-mold polycarbonate outer shell to reduce force transmitted during impacts. The shell and liner work together to distribute impact energy across a broader area while maintaining a low profile suited for mountain riding.

• Dense EPS core for shock absorption
• In-mold polycarbonate exterior for durability
• Coverage optimized for trail and cross-country riding

Will the ventilation and fit keep me comfortable on long rides?

Yes—the Rowan’s fourteen strategic vents promote continuous airflow to reduce heat buildup during sustained efforts. For fit, the ErgoKnob micro-adjustment dial secures the helmet snugly without pressure points, and removable, washable pads help manage sweat and odor.

• 14 airflow ports positioned for cooling efficiency
• ErgoKnob dial for precise circumference adjustments
• Removable pads that wick moisture and are machine-washable

Can I use the visor for glare and trail debris?

The adjustable, detachable visor helps shield your eyes from sun, branches, and roost while riding. It can be removed for a sleeker profile or tilted to match helmet position and rider preference.

• Detachable visor for flexible protection options
• Adjustable angle to suit different helmets and goggles
• Easy-to-remove design for packing or maintenance

How practical is the Rowan for everyday maintenance and multi-season use?

Retrospec designed the helmet for low-maintenance ownership: the interior liners come out for washing, and the lightweight construction reduces neck strain over long days on the bike. The materials are chosen to withstand repeated use across seasons when stored and cared for properly.

• Removable, washable padding for hygiene
• Lightweight build reduces rider fatigue on long rides
• Durable shell resists everyday dings and abrasions

Who this is for: The Retrospec Rowan helmet suits casual riders, commuting cyclists, and trail-focused cyclists who want dependable protection without excess weight. It’s a good option for men and women seeking an adjustable fit, active ventilation, and a removable visor at a mid-range price point.
