Scanstrut Horizontal Multi Cable Seal — Black, 5‑Cable IP68 Nylon Entry Seal, Self‑Drill Mount

The Scanstrut DS-H-Multi-BLK is a low-profile, horizontal multi-cable entry seal that routes and protects up to five cables while keeping installations watertight.

This compact black cable seal is engineered for outdoor and marine use where reliable cable entry protection is essential. Built from a high-impact, glass-filled nylon compound and rated IP68, it resists UV exposure, corrosion and environmental wear while maintaining a tidy, professional appearance on decks, roofs and vehicle surfaces. Its horizontal layout and self-drilling mounting system make it suitable for boats, RVs, overland vehicles, and any application that requires multiple cable passes with minimal visual impact.

How many and what size cables will this seal accommodate?

The DS-H-MULTI-BLK is designed to accept up to five individual cables, each with a diameter of up to 15 mm. The internal layout and flexible grommet material allow different cable combinations—power, signal, and data—while maintaining the waterproof barrier around each cable. It’s ideal when combining solar, lighting, antenna and electronics wiring through a single entry point.

• Capacity: up to 5 cables
• Maximum cable diameter: 15 mm per cable
• Supports mixed cable types: power, signal, data
• Flexible grommet design for varied cable arrangements

Will this hold up to harsh outdoor and marine environments?

Yes—materials and construction are chosen to endure prolonged outdoor exposure. The glass-filled nylon body offers impact resistance and UV stability, while the IP68 rating ensures robust protection from water ingress when installed correctly. This combination reduces the risk of corrosion and premature aging in salt spray, rain, and sun-exposed applications.

• IP68 waterproof rating for immersion resistance
• Glass-filled nylon resists UV, impact and corrosion
• Suitable for saltwater spray and outdoor climates
• Durable finish maintains appearance over time

How easy is installation and future maintenance?

The seal is intended for straightforward installation and adjustment. A self-drilling mounting design eliminates complex hole preparation in fiberglass, wood or metal, and captive nuts secure the unit while simplifying future disassembly or cable changes. The low-profile horizontal form helps keep headroom and aesthetics tidy on decks and roofs.

• Self-drill feature for quick mounting
• Captive nuts allow easy removal and re-fit
• Works on fiberglass, wood and metal substrates
• Low-profile design reduces snagging and visual impact

What practical uses does this seal support on boats and vehicles?

This multi-cable entry is versatile across marine, RV and overland installations. Common uses include routing solar panel leads, engine room electronics, navigation and communication antennas, and exterior lighting runs. Its compact footprint makes it useful where multiple systems converge and a neat, waterproof pass-through is needed.

• Solar panel and battery cable routing
• Navigation, VHF and antenna cable entries
• Exterior lighting and accessory wiring
• Combined electronics and data cable management

Who is this for? Installers, boat owners, RV enthusiasts and overland builders who need a reliable, tidy and weatherproof way to pass several cables through a single entry point will benefit from the Scanstrut DS-H-MULTI-BLK. It’s aimed at anyone seeking durable outdoor cable protection with straightforward installation and a low-profile look for decks, roofs and vehicle surfaces.
