SHIMANO Deore CN-LG500 Link Glide 9/10/11-speed Chain One Size, 138-Link with Quick Link for Smooth Shifting

The SHIMANO Deore CN-LG500 is a 9/10/11-speed Link Glide HG‑X chain with an included quick link, 138 links, and a durable silver finish designed for smooth shifting and long service life.

This CN-LG500 chain by SHIMANO is engineered for use with modern drivetrain systems that require compatibility across 9, 10 and 11-speed cassettes. Built to the HG‑X Link Glide profile, it emphasizes reliable gear engagement and consistent shifting under load. The package includes a quick link for faster installation and maintenance, and its 138-link length gives shops and home mechanics room to size the chain to most bikes.

How does this chain improve shifting performance?

The HG‑X Link Glide design uses shaped inner and outer plates to help the chain seat cleanly on cassette teeth, reducing hesitation and noise during gear changes. That profiling lowers friction and helps maintain crisp, predictable shifts across the cassette range.

• HG‑X Link Glide geometry for optimized tooth engagement
• Precision rivet and plate tolerances for consistent shifts
• Works smoothly across 9/10/11-speed drivetrains

Is this chain easy to install and adjust?

Yes — the CN-LG500 includes a reusable quick link so you can join the chain without special tools, or use a chain tool for a permanent riveted connection. The 138-link length gives extra links for professional sizing; simply remove excess links to match your bike’s chainstay length and drivetrain requirements.

• Quick link included for fast on‑bike joining
• 138 links allow flexible sizing for most bikes
• Compatible with standard chain tools and master links

Will this chain fit my drivetrain and cassette?

The CN-LG500 is specified for 9, 10 and 11-speed systems and is compatible with HG‑X Shimano drivetrain components and most aftermarket cassettes of those speeds. Check your derailleur and cassette specifications for speed compatibility before installation.

• Compatible with 9/10/11-speed cassettes and chainrings
• Designed to pair well with Shimano HG‑X shifting systems
• Not intended for 12-speed or single‑speed applications
