Snow Peak Trek 900 Cookset – 900 ml Uncoated Aluminum Pot & Frypan, Nesting Ultralight Backpacking Set

The Snow Peak Trek 900 Cookset is a compact, uncoated aluminum camping pot and frypan set that nests together for ultralight stoves and quick pack-up.

Designed to be simple, durable and easy to stow, the Trek 900 is a minimal cook system for day hikes, weekend backpacking trips, and travel where weight and space matter. The set includes a 30 fl. oz. (roughly 900 ml) aluminum pot, a small aluminum frypan that doubles as the pot lid, and a nylon mesh storage sack. Because the pieces are uncoated, they’re lightweight and straightforward to maintain in the backcountry.

What components come with the Trek 900 and how do they nest?

The set contains a single pot, a frypan that serves as a lid, and a nylon mesh sack for storage. The frypan fits over the pot to create a compact stack, and the whole kit is designed to hold a Snow Peak GigaPower stove plus a 110 g fuel canister when packed.

• 30 fl. oz. pure aluminum pot (approx. 900 ml) for boiling and simmering
• Small aluminum frypan that functions as a lid and a shallow pan
• Nylon mesh storage sack keeps pieces together and allows drying
• Designed to store a GigaPower stove and 110 g fuel canister inside the pot

How does the all-aluminum construction affect performance and care?

Because both pot and frypan are made from uncoated aluminum, they heat quickly and keep weight to a minimum. Uncoated aluminum is reactive with certain acidic foods, so rinsing and drying after use helps maintain appearance and function. Rounded bottom edges simplify cleaning and promote even heating over small backpacking stoves.

• Pure aluminum gives fast, efficient heat transfer for small stoves
• Uncoated metal is lighter but may show discoloration over time
• Rounded bottoms make scraping and washing easier in the field
• Wash and dry thoroughly to protect finish and avoid lingering flavors

How compact and packable is the Trek 900 for backcountry use?

The Trek 900 is sized to nest small stove systems and a 110 g fuel canister inside the pot, minimizing external bulk in your pack. Handles fold flat against the pot and pan so the set sits low in a pack or hipbelt pocket, and the mesh sack keeps moisture from being trapped while allowing airflow.

• Fold-flat handles reduce overall packed dimensions
• Stows a MiniSolo or Trek 700 or GigaPower stove and fuel canister inside
• Mesh storage sack prevents condensation buildup and aids drying
• Lightweight design keeps carry weight minimal for multi-day hikes

What cooking tasks is this kit best suited for on the trail?

With a 30 fl. oz. pot and a shallow frypan-lid, the Trek 900 excels at boiling water, rehydrating meals, and light frying or sautéing for one to two people. The frypan’s dual role as lid saves weight and simplifies meal prep in tight camp kitchens.

• Boiling water for drinks and freeze-dried meals
• Sautéing small portions or warming pre-cooked food
• Using the frypan as a lid to speed boil times and reduce splatter
• Suitable for solo or light two-person trips

If you want a straightforward, no-frills cookset that nests with common small stoves and fuel canisters, the Trek 900 delivers a simple, efficient solution without extra coatings or unnecessary parts.
