SSK Z5 Quick Hands Infield Glove, 8.5" Right Hand Throw, Black-850 Closed Web, Cowhide Leather, Shallow Pocket

The SSK Z5 Quick Hands Infield Training Glove is a game-ready cowhide leather infield glove designed for fast transfers, durable lacing, and an immediate break-in feel.

Built to bridge practice and game performance, the Z5 Training Gear glove comes pre-broken-in with Premium Cowhide Nameshi Leather and top-grain lacing so you can put it on and play. Crafted under SSK's long-standing Shokunin tradition, the glove balances a lightweight feel with robust construction, making it a practical choice for infielders who want a glove that shapes quickly and stands up to repeated use.

What makes the Z5 feel game-ready straight from the box?

SSK applies an extra factory break-in step so the leather opens and conforms to the hand immediately. The Premium Cowhide Nameshi Leather is soft yet durable, reducing the time and effort players spend shaping a new glove.

• Extra factory break-in for immediate pliability and pocket formation
• Nameshi cowhide that balances softness with long-term durability
• Lightweight construction to speed hand closure and transfers

How does the glove support quick infield transfers?

The Z5 pattern is tuned for infield mechanics: a shallow, responsive pocket and a close web design encourage fast ball retrieval and quick feeds. That combination helps shorten transfer time without sacrificing secure catches.

• 8.5" to 10.5" size options tailored for youth to adult infielders
• Closed web (Black-850) for a compact, secure catching surface
• Shallow pocket geometry to promote rapid hand-to-hand exchanges

Is the glove built to last through regular training sessions?

Yes—the glove uses top-grain leather laces and a tested lace construction that resists stretching and failure under repeated stress. Combined with the durable cowhide shell, the Z5 is intended to maintain shape and performance over many practices.

• Top-grain leather lacing tested for high tensile strength
• Reinforced seams and professional patterning to reduce wear points
• Craftsmanship guided by SSK’s Shokunin standards since 1946

Which player profiles get the most from this glove?

The Z5 fits infielders who value a ready-to-play feel, faster transfers, and a durable build that won’t require extensive break-in work. It suits youth players stepping up to competitive play as well as adult training partners seeking consistent practice gear.

• Younger infielders needing smaller sizes (8.5"–9.5") for control and fit
• High-school and adult players preferring a lightweight, quick-close glove
• Coaches and trainers who want uniform, durable practice equipment

Who is this for: The SSK Z5 Quick Hands Infield Training Glove is ideal for infield players who want a glove ready at first use, built from premium Nameshi cowhide, and finished with high-strength lacing—offering a reliable, practice-ready option for youth through adult players and coaches focused on quick ball handling and long-term value.
