Texas Bushcraft Ferro Rod Fire Starter, Army Green, 3/8" Thick with Striker and 48" Paracord Wrist Lanyard — Waterproof, Hardwood Handle

Texas Bushcraft Fire Starter is a rugged 3/8" ferrocerium rod with striker and paracord wrist lanyard built to create hot sparks in wet, windy, or cold conditions. This compact fire steel replaces unreliable matches and disposable lighters when you need reliable ignition outdoors. The robust 3/8" ferro rod produces intense sparks that catch fine tinders quickly, while the hardwood-housed handle, multi-tool striker, and 48" braided paracord keep everything organized and easy to use. It’s designed for repeated use in survival kits, backpacks, and glove compartments so you can start a fire even after thousands of strikes.

How reliable is this ferro rod in bad weather?

The ferrocerium alloy is weather-resistant, so rain, snow, and wind won’t stop it from producing sparks. Its sparks reach high temperatures and will ignite dry and fibrous tinders that many other ignition sources struggle with.

• Waterproof ferro rod performs when wet
• Produces extremely hot sparks ideal for fluffy tinder
• Resistant to wind and cold performance loss
• Durable hardwood handle keeps grip secure when hands are cold

What tools come with the striker and lanyard?

The striker doubles as a compact survival tool and stays attached to the ferro rod via a long braided paracord. The striker includes practical details for outdoors use so you have more than just a spark maker when time is critical.

• Striker contains bottle opener and hex wrench cutouts
• Integrated micro ruler and rough spine for scraping tinder
• 48" braided paracord wrist lanyard for retention and emergency cordage
• All parts stay connected for quick access in a pack or pocket

How long will the fire starter last under regular use?

The rod is engineered for longevity and gives thousands of reliable strikes before needing replacement. With care and normal outdoor use, it becomes a multi-season tool in your kit rather than a single-use item.

• High-yield ferrocerium composition yields 15,000+ strikes
• 3/8" thickness balances spark volume with lifespan
• Hardwood handle reduces wear from repeated scraping
• Replaceable as a standalone part when eventually worn

How easy is it to carry and use while hiking or camping?

The compact form and practical features make it pocket-friendly and ready for quick use at camp. The long paracord can secure the fire starter to gear or be worn on the wrist, and the striker’s ergonomics enable efficient, controlled strikes.

• Compact size fits in pockets, packs, or glove boxes
• Sturdy hardwood grip for controlled scraping action
• Paracord lanyard doubles as emergency cordage or tether
• Striker designed for single-handed use in chilly conditions

Who is this for If you spend time camping, hiking, backpacking, or maintain an emergency car kit, this Texas Bushcraft Fire Starter is tailored to your needs. It suits outdoor enthusiasts who want a dependable, reusable ignition tool with practical extras—the multi-tool striker and long paracord—so you’re prepared for ignition tasks and basic field needs without carrying extra gear. It’s also a useful backup for survival kits and anyone who prefers tools that combine durability, portability, and multiple functions.
