Trangia butane burner GB74 for 25/27 series — 2100W rapid‑boil, lightweight portable upgrade

Trangia Gas Butane Burner GB74 is a compact, high‑efficiency butane stove insert that replaces the spirit burner in 25/27 series Trangia stoves for faster, controllable cooking. The GB74 converts your classic Trangia 25 or 27 series windscreen into a modern, instant‑heat butane cook system without altering the stove body. It accepts standard threaded butane cartridges, delivers a rated 2100 W output and can bring one liter of water to a boil in roughly 3.5 minutes. Lightweight and simple to operate, the GB74 offers an easy upgrade for hikers, campers and anyone who prefers the convenience of gas over alcohol fuel.

How does the GB74 fit into my existing Trangia 25 or 27 series stove?

The burner is designed as a drop‑in replacement for the spirit (alcohol) burner and sits securely in the lower windshield section of both 25 and 27 series Trangia systems. No permanent modification of the stove is required, and the windshield still offers protection from wind when cooking outdoors.

• Direct fit for Trangia 25 and 27 lower windshields.
• Sits flush in the burner well for stable pot support.
• Works alongside the existing windshield and pot supports.

How easy is it to use and control while camping?

Operation is straightforward: attach a standard threaded butane cartridge, open the control valve, and ignite. Flame control is precise, allowing low simmering through high boil without fiddly priming or pouring fuel.

• Uses common screw‑in butane cartridges for quick replacement.
• Integrated control valve for smooth power adjustment.
• No preheating or priming required — instant heat on demand.

What kind of performance and efficiency can I expect?

The GB74 delivers strong, efficient output at 2100 W, shaving typical boil times to around 3.5 minutes for one liter of water. Its design focuses the heat under cookware, reducing wasted fuel and improving overall cooking speed compared with many alcohol setups.

• Rated output: 2100 W for rapid heating.
• Boil time: approx. 3.5 minutes for 1 liter.
• Lightweight at about 8.11 oz, preserving stove portability.

Are there any safety or compatibility notes I should know?

Use only approved threaded butane cartridges and operate on stable, level ground with the windshield in place to shield the flame from wind. Keep the cartridge connection tight and cool cartridges between uses; always follow the cartridge and stove manufacturer safety guidelines.

• Compatible with standard threaded butane canisters only.
• Avoid tipping and protect the flame from strong wind.
• Allow parts to cool before changing cartridges to prevent burns.

Who is this for: The Trangia GB74 suits hikers, backpackers and campsite cooks who already own a 25 or 27 series Trangia system and want faster, more controllable cooking without buying a new stove. It's ideal for users who value low weight, quick boil times and the convenience of widely available butane cartridges. If you prefer instant flame control and improved fuel efficiency over spirit/alcohol burners, the GB74 is a practical, minimally invasive upgrade that keeps the classic Trangia setup intact.

• Fuel Type: Butane
• Output: 2100 W
• Boil Time: 3.5 min (1 liter)
