Umbra Stax Four-in-a-Row tabletop game, Brass, metal-plated frame with frosted pieces

Stax Four-in-a-Row by Umbra is a modern metal take on the classic connect-four game, designed to play well and look good on display.

Combining playful mechanics with a sculptural silhouette, this tabletop version transforms a familiar strategy game into a decorative accent. The plated brass finish and frosted game pieces create a refined contrast that reads as art when not in use, while the weighted metal base and wire stopper keep gameplay stable. It’s compact enough for coffee tables and counters but substantial enough to feel premium in hand.

How does Stax change the traditional four-in-a-row experience?

Instead of plastic bins and bright colors, Stax uses a metal frame and frosted tokens for a minimalist interpretation that prioritizes aesthetics without altering core rules. Gameplay remains simple and strategic, but the materials lift the tactile experience and visual appeal.

• Metal-plated brass finish replaces plastic for a sophisticated look.
• Frosted playing pieces offer a quieter, refined click when dropped.
• Weighted base reduces tipping and improves piece alignment.
• Wire stopper secures tokens and creates an intentional release point.

What practical features make Stax suitable for display and play?

Stax is engineered to serve dual roles as both a functional game and a decorative object. Thoughtful details ensure it performs well during play while remaining an attractive fixture on shelves and tables.

• Durable metal-plated frame resists wear and keeps a polished appearance.
• Weighted base stabilizes the unit on various surfaces.
• Wire stopper prevents accidental spills of playing pieces.
• Compact footprint fits coffee tables, counters, or entryway consoles.

Who can enjoy Stax and how easy is it to start a game?

Stax is approachable for a wide age range and requires minimal setup, making it great for spontaneous play. Rules mirror the classic four-in-a-row objective, so anyone familiar with the game can jump right in.

• Recommended for ages 6 and up, but fun for adults too.
• Simple assembly—place the pieces and begin playing immediately.
• Ideal for family gatherings, date nights, or small parties.
• Serves as both a game and a conversation-starting decor piece.

How durable and gift-ready is the design?

The construction emphasizes longevity and presentability. Premium materials and a considered finish mean the piece is both sturdy for repeated play and packaged to make an elegant gift.

• Metal plating offers a refined finish resistant to fading.
• Frosted pieces hold up to regular handling without looking worn.
• Compact, attractive packaging makes it ready to gift.
• Designed by Umbra, focusing on original, practical home objects.
