Thorness Vintage Style Large Metal Megaphone is a hand-powered, battery-free loud hailer designed to amplify speech for events, coaching, directing and film props.

This classic, acoustic megaphone blends vintage design with practical performance. Crafted from metal with careful attention to detail, it delivers clear, unamplified voice projection for indoor and outdoor use without electronics or plastic. It’s lightweight yet sturdy, measuring 35 cm long with a 6 cm narrow end expanding to an 18 cm wide bell, and works anywhere moisture, batteries or wiring would be a problem.

How effective is this megaphone at projecting voice over distance?

The Thorness megaphone relies on acoustic design: speak firmly into the narrow end and the shaped metal bell focuses and projects your voice farther than unaided speech. Loudness scales with how forcefully you speak, making it useful for quick instructions and crowd management without amplification gear.

• Voice-powered — no batteries or electronics to fail.
• Metal bell concentrates sound for clearer projection.
• Suitable for short-to-medium range communication at events and on sets.
• Works reliably in wet or sandy environments where electronics risk damage.
