WILSON A500 youth baseball glove Blonde/Red/Royal, 12" Left Hand Throw — top-grain leather Dual Post Web

The WILSON A500 12” Utility Youth Baseball Glove is an all-leather, left-hand-throw mitt built for young players who need a versatile glove that works in both infield and outfield positions.

The A500 12" combines durable top-grain leather with youth-focused fit details to give developing players a reliable, lightweight mitt that forms a secure pocket and holds its shape. With a Dual Post Web and rolled dual welting, this glove balances structure and flexibility so kids can make clean transfers and feel steady when catching. The Quick Fit Wrist system and narrower finger stalls tailor the fit to smaller hands without sacrificing control.

How does the A500 help a young player handle different field positions?

The A500 is designed as a utility glove, meaning it performs well in multiple spots. The open Dual Post Web channels the ball toward the pocket for easier catches, while the 12" length provides reach for outfield plays and compact control for infield work.

• 12" size suits both infield and outfield responsibilities.
• Dual Post Web creates a visible pocket for quick ball capture.
• Top-grain leather balances durability with manageable break-in.
• Rolled dual welting helps the glove keep its shape through play.

What fit features make this glove comfortable for youth hands?

The A500 focuses on a youth-friendly fit so beginners and younger players can control the ball more confidently. Shorter, narrower finger stalls reduce excess movement, and the Quick Fit Wrist elastic system adjusts the cuff to hug smaller wrists snugly.

• Quick Fit Wrist provides an adjustable, secure cuff feel.
• Narrow finger stalls improve fingertip control and dexterity.
• Lightweight leather reduces fatigue during long practices or games.

How durable is the A500 and how does it hold up over time?

Constructed from blonde top-grain leather with reinforced welting and quality laces, the A500 is built to withstand routine youth play. Rolled dual welting is integrated into the liner to support structure so the pocket and heel keep their shape through repeated use.

• Top-grain leather offers a long-lasting, lightweight shell.
• Rolled dual welting supports the glove’s frame for extended life.
• Royal blue laces and red binding add visual durability at stress points.

What should I expect during break-in and initial use?

Because the A500 uses quality leather, it requires a brief break-in to reach optimal performance but remains relatively quick to shape compared with heavier pro models. Gentle playing-in drills and targeted conditioning will soften the pocket while preserving the glove’s supportive structure.

• Expect moderate break-in time—softens with regular catching and light conditioning.
• Use ball-in-pocket drills and controlled compression to form the pocket.
• Avoid heavy oils; apply small amounts of glove conditioner as needed to maintain suppleness.
