YETI Hopper M20 Backpack Soft Cooler, Rescue Red, 20 L, MagShield Access and ColdCell Insulation

The YETI Hopper M20 Backpack is a rugged, soft-sided cooler that combines MagShield Access sealing, ColdCell insulation, and a DryHide shell for reliable cold storage on the move.

Compact and built for active days, the Hopper M20 Backpack is a 20-liter soft cooler designed to carry drinks, snacks, and perishables while keeping them cold. It blends weather-resistant materials with a magnet-assisted closure so you can grab what you need quickly without sacrificing spill protection. The Rescue Red color adds high visibility for outdoor pursuits, while the pack-style straps free your hands for paddles, bikes, or a trail.

How does the MagShield Access make opening and closing easier?

The MagShield Access uses powerful embedded magnets to create a wide, leak-resistant seal that stays open when you want access and snaps closed with a light press. It eliminates fiddly zippers in favor of a smoother one-motion experience, reducing the chance of spills and making it faster to load or retrieve items. The design balances quick access with robust sealing to keep liquids contained.

• Magnet-backed rim forms a tight, water-resistant barrier
• Wide opening remains propped open for easy loading
• Simple push-to-close action reduces travel fumbling
• Fewer mechanical parts means lower snag and failure risk

Will this cooler keep food and drinks cold on long outings?

ColdCell closed-cell foam insulation delivers concentrated thermal protection to retain cold temperatures longer than typical soft coolers. While exact chill time depends on ambient temperature and ice quantity, the M20’s insulation and construction are optimized for day trips and overnight adventures. Pair it with quality ice or YETI ice alternatives for best performance.

• Closed-cell foam insulation resists heat transfer
• Seam construction minimizes thermal leaks
• Holds ice efficiently for day-to-overnight use
• Best results when pre-chilled and loaded strategically

How durable and weather-resistant is the DryHide shell?

The DryHide exterior is a heavy-duty, high-density fabric engineered to resist abrasions, punctures, and UV exposure so the bag keeps performing in rough environments. It stands up to contact with rocks, boat decks, and packed gear without quickly showing wear. Water and sun resistance extend the life of the cooler while maintaining a clean, functional look.

• High-density DryHide fabric resists punctures and scuffs
• UV-resistant coating prevents color fade and breakdown
• Easy-to-clean surface for quick maintenance after use
• Reinforced stitching for long-term rugged use

What accessories and carry features make it versatile?

The Hopper M20 Backpack includes a HitchPoint Grid that accepts YETI SideKick Dry Gear Cases and MOLLE-compatible attachments like bottle openers or zingers, so you can customize storage. Comfortable shoulder straps and a sternum strap keep the load stable, while internal organization helps separate ice, food, and gear. These features make the pack suitable for fishing, day hikes, commuting, and shore breaks.

• HitchPoint Grid for SideKick and MOLLE accessories
• Padded shoulder straps and sternum strap for balance
• Internal space for food, drinks, and small gear organization
• Compact 20-liter volume for hands-free portability

Who is this for: The YETI Hopper M20 Backpack is designed for outdoor enthusiasts who want reliable cold storage without a hard-shell cooler—ideal for anglers, kayakers, cyclists, and day-trippers who need durable, easy-access cooling in a compact, wearable package.
