YOUNG PROPS 13x17 4-Blade Boat Propeller for Mercury 40–140HP — 15-Tooth Hub, Alloy-Aluminum

The YOUNG PROPS 13 x 17 48-8M8026590 is a 4-blade alloy-aluminum right-rotation boat propeller built to replace Mercury 40–140HP OEM units and restore performance, acceleration and fuel economy.

This precision-matched propeller—13-inch diameter, 17-inch pitch, 15-tooth hub—fits Mercury outboard models with a 4.25" gearcase and is supplied with a full hub kit (forward thrust washer, drive sleeve, aft adaptor, tab washer and propeller nut) for straightforward installation. Manufactured from durable alloy-aluminum and quality-controlled to resist wear, it’s offered as a direct OEM replacement (48-8M8026590) or reliable spare for fishing, cruising, or workboats.

Will this propeller fit my Mercury 40–140HP outboard?

Yes—this YOUNG PROPS unit is made to match Mercury outboards that require a 13x17, 4-blade prop with a 15-tooth hub and right-hand rotation. Check gearcase and hub tooth count to confirm compatibility before ordering.

• Diameter: 13 inches, Pitch: 17 inches
• Blade count: 4; Hub: 15-tooth, right rotation
• Designed for Mercury 40–140HP outboards with 4.25" gearcase
• OEM cross-reference: 48-8M8026590

How does this prop affect speed, acceleration and engine load?

The 13x17 4-blade design balances top speed and mid-range acceleration while maintaining efficient engine RPM under typical loads. The extra blade count helps reduce cavitation and improves bite in choppy conditions, translating to steadier throttle response and better practical speed on most recreational boats.

• 4 blades for improved grip and reduced slip
• 17" pitch tuned for balanced speed and acceleration
• Alloy-aluminum construction for lighter rotational inertia
• Precision hub fit to minimize shaft vibration and wear

What comes in the box and how easy is installation?

The propeller ship includes a complete hub kit so you can fit it without sourcing extra parts. YOUNG PROPS supplies the forward thrust washer, drive sleeve, aft adaptor, tab washer and prop nut—everything required for a standard replacement, provided your gearcase matches the specification.

• Included: thrust washer, drive sleeve, aft adaptor, tab washer, propeller nut
• Interchangeable hub design for quick fitting
• Installation uses common marine tools and follows standard torque specs
• Clear OEM cross-reference reduces fitment guesswork

Is this propeller durable and what warranty is offered?

Manufactured under strict quality control, this alloy-aluminum prop is built to resist common wear while preserving performance. YOUNG PROPS offers a 12-month replacement warranty for blade fracture and hub slipping (excludes normal wear, accidental damage, modification, or improper installation).

• Durable alloy-aluminum construction
• Quality control to protect RPM, speed and fuel efficiency
• 12-month warranty for manufacturing defects (limited exclusions)
• Recommended inspection after impact or heavy grounding

Who is this propeller for?
