Bear Butt hammock rain fly 11 x 9 ft Blue ultralight waterproof tarp for camping double hammocks

The Bear Butt Hammock Rain Fly is an 11 x 9 ft ultralight, waterproof tarp designed to keep your hammock dry and protected while camping or backpacking.

Compact and lightweight, this rain fly gives wide coverage for double hammocks without needing a stand. Built from waterproof polyester with reinforced attachment points and reflective guy lines, it balances durability with packability so you can shelter quickly from wind, rain, or sun on the trail.

How quickly can I set up the rain fly over my hammock?

Setup takes moments: simply drape the fly over your hammock and secure its corners to the same trees or posts used for the hammock. The tarp’s shape and attachment points are designed for one-person deployment so you can get shelter fast when weather changes.

• Single-person drape-and-clip setup
• Pre-attached reinforced tie points for fast anchoring
• Compatible with most tree-to-tree hammock setups

Will the 11 x 9 ft size protect a double hammock?

Yes — the generous 11 x 9 ft coverage was chosen to protect larger hammocks and gear beneath. The wide footprint blocks rain and wind from multiple angles while leaving enough overhang for suspensions and gear storage under the tarp.

• Large rectangular canopy covers double hammocks and some gear
• Extended ridgelines reduce runoff near suspension points
• Good balance of coverage without excessive packed bulk

What materials and features make this tarp reliable outdoors?

The fly is made from waterproof top-stock polyester that resists tearing better than many lightweight nylon alternatives. Reinforced corners, durable tension guy lines, and reflective tracers improve stability, visibility, and longevity across seasons.

• Waterproof polyester fabric for effective water beading
• Strong tension lines and reinforced attachment points
• Reflective tracers for nighttime visibility and safer campsite use

How packable and light is it for backpacking trips?

Weighing just over one pound, the tarp compresses down to a small stuff sack that fits easily in a pack or hammock kit. Its low weight keeps your base weight down while providing a reliable shelter option for multi-day routes.

• Ultralight design: just over 1 lb for easy carrying
• Compact stuff sack for minimal storage footprint
• Simple setup reduces time exposed to elements while packing/unpacking
