Bones Big Balls Reds Skate Bearings 8mm 16-Pack — 6 Oversized Balls, Prelubed with Speed Cream

Bones Big Balls Reds are a 16‑bearing set of 8mm skate bearings engineered with 6 oversized balls to roll faster, resist dirt, and last longer while using lightweight, skate‑rated materials and Speed Cream lube.

These Big Balls Reds combine proven Bones REDS engineering with enlarged rolling elements adapted from Bones Super Swiss 6 design. The larger balls reduce friction and move more smoothly over rough surfaces and contaminated conditions, while the familiar 8mm sizing fits standard skateboard wheels. Each set comes with 16 bearings prelubed with Speed Cream for immediate use and easier maintenance.

How do the larger balls affect speed and durability?

The bigger rolling elements increase contact area and reduce the number of revolutions needed for a given distance, improving top speed and momentum retention. More mass in each ball spreads load and handles impacts better, which helps bearings maintain performance over time.

• Uses six 17% larger balls than standard REDS to lower rolling resistance.
• Improved load distribution for longer service life under skate stresses.
• Better performance on rough pavement and through light contamination.

What maintenance and lubrication does Speed Cream provide?

Speed Cream is a thin, long‑lasting lubricant applied at the factory to balance low friction with protection against wear. It makes bearings fast out of the box and simplifies cleaning since the lube sheds dirt more readily than heavier greases.

• Prelubricated for immediate high performance.
• Formulated to be easy to clean without stripping protective film.
• Maintains low friction while protecting races and balls from wear.

Do these bearings fit my wheels and how many are included?

Bones Big Balls Reds use the standard 8mm inner race and fit any skateboard or longboard wheel with an 8mm axle bearing seat. The package supplies a full set of 16 bearings—enough for four wheels, including spare or replacement needs for axle/retainer setups.

• Standard 8mm bore works with most skate axles and wheels.
• Set contains 16 bearings — complete for a four‑wheel setup.
• Lightweight, skate‑rated materials for responsive rolling.

How do Big Balls Reds handle dirt and everyday skate conditions?

The larger balls are less affected by grit and small debris, allowing the bearing to keep turning when smaller balls slow or bind. Combined with Speed Cream and Bones’ skate‑rated tolerances, these bearings stay usable longer between cleanings in urban and outdoor environments.

• Larger rolling elements resist slowdown from dust and small grit.
• Engineered races and clearances tuned for skate use, not industrial fitments.
• Simple cleaning protocol recommended to sustain peak roll.

Who is this for? Bones Big Balls Reds are aimed at skaters who want a performance upgrade from standard bearings without moving to bulky, high‑maintenance race bearings. They suit street and park skaters, commuters, and anyone who wants faster roll and improved durability in a familiar 8mm, skate‑rated package. Each 16‑bearing set is ready to install and built to balance speed, ease of care, and longevity for everyday skating.
