Coleman Skydome 4-Person Camping Tent — Large Black, Fast Setup & Built-In LED Lighting

The Coleman Skydome 4-person camping tent is a quick‑setup shelter with integrated LED lighting, roomy near‑vertical walls, and WeatherTec features to keep you comfortable through dusk and light storms.

The Skydome blends fast, tool‑free assembly with thoughtful interior details so you can spend less time pitching and more time enjoying the outdoors. Preattached poles and a color‑coded rainfly orientation get the tent standing in roughly five minutes, while an overhead LED system provides soft, diffuse light for reading or organizing gear after sunset. Durable construction and Coleman’s WeatherTec elements help protect the interior from wind-driven rain, and the nearly vertical walls add usable headroom compared with conventional dome tents.

How fast and simple is setup when you arrive at camp?

Setup is optimized for speed and clarity: preattached poles reduce steps and an obvious red color code on the front left corner and brow pole sleeve makes aligning the rainfly straightforward. Two people can have the tent ready in about five minutes, and the broad front door eases moving airbeds and packs inside.

• Preattached poles for near‑instant assembly
• Color‑coded red points for correct rainfly alignment
• Wide door simplifies loading mattresses and gear
• Single rainfly design reduces confusion in low light

What lighting and interior conveniences does it offer after dark?

The tent includes a built‑in LED light that casts warm, diffused illumination overhead—ideal for reading, games, or organizing equipment. The light runs on three AA batteries (not included), keeping power simple and replaceable without external cords or batteries to charge.

• Integrated overhead LED for even interior lighting
• Battery‑powered (3 AA) for cord‑free use
• Interior gear pockets and a small loft for organization
• Generous center height supports seated comfort

How well does the tent handle wind and rain at a typical campsite?

Coleman’s WeatherTec features focus on water management and structural stability: a tub‑style floor, welded corners, inverted seams, and taped rainfly seams reduce water entry points. The frame has been tested to resist winds up to 35 mph, and the design’s thoughtful seam detailing helps keep interior moisture to a minimum in driving rain.

• Tub‑style floor and welded corners resist water intrusion
• Inverted seams and taped rainfly for extra protection
• Strong frame tested for winds up to 35 mph
• Wide door and near‑vertical walls reduce splash inside

How much space will four people actually have inside?

The tent measures 8 by 7 feet with a 4 ft. 8 in. center height and is sized to fit one queen‑size air bed plus additional gear. Nearly vertical walls provide about 20% more usable headroom than many dome tents, making sitting up, changing, and moving around easier for a compact family or a pair of adults with children.

• 8 x 7 ft footprint fits one queen air bed comfortably
• 4 ft 8 in center height improves seated comfort
• Extra headroom from near‑vertical wall profile
• Internal pockets and loft help keep gear organized

Who is this for? The Coleman Skydome 4‑person tent suits weekend campers, car‑camping families, and small groups who value quick pitching, usable interior space, and built‑in lighting. If you want a durable, weather‑aware shelter that’s easy to set up and comfortable to live in at dusk and into the evening, the Skydome delivers practical features without complicated assembly or electronics to charge. It’s particularly well suited to casual campers who bring a queen air bed or want more headroom than a traditional dome provides.
