The Extreme Max 3006.6560 BoatTector is a 30 lb vinyl-coated river anchor engineered to lock into fast currents and drifting conditions for reliable holding on varied bottoms.
Built for lakes and rivers where current and drift can push your boat, this River Anchor combines mass and broad flukes to dig in quickly and resist movement. The vinyl coating protects your boat’s finish while the fluke geometry provides penetration into hard, muddy, rocky, weedy, or grassy substrates. Lower it slowly so the flukes orient and bite for the best performance.
Its design optimizes both weight and fluke surface area so the anchor resists lateral pull common in currents. The wide flukes increase the contact area, helping the anchor set rather than skid across the bottom.
The anchor’s vinyl coating covers the body and flukes to reduce scuffs and scratches against hulls and docks. The coating also helps guard the metal from surface-level nicks and keeps noisy metal-on-metal contact to a minimum.
This anchor was made to grab across a wide variety of substrates, from compact sand and mud to weed-covered and rocky bottoms. The large flukes are particularly effective at penetrating soft mud and embedding into mixed-grain bottoms where smaller anchors may slip.
Lower the anchor slowly until it reaches the bottom so the flukes can orient and penetrate. Avoid throwing the anchor to the side; controlled lowering improves the chance of a clean set and reduces the chance of tangles in the rode.
Who is this for: The Extreme Max BoatTector 30 lb River Anchor is aimed at anglers, river cruisers, and day-trippers who need dependable holding in currents and drift-prone waterways. If you routinely anchor in lakes or rivers with moving water or variable bottoms and want a durable, hull-friendly anchor that bites into mud, sand, weeds, or rock, this model provides a balanced mix of weight, surface area, and protective coating to keep your boat steady.
Key features:
Q: Is this anchor suitable for ocean use?
A: No. This river-style anchor is designed for lakes and rivers with currents; it’s not optimized for open-ocean conditions or heavy surf.
Q: How should I store the anchor aboard?
A: Rinse after use, dry to prevent corrosion, and stow on a padded rack or anchor locker to protect hull surfaces.
