Gaiam Kids Yoga Mat Rainbow Stars, 60" x 24", 3mm non-toxic kid-friendly mat for children

Gaiam Kids Yoga Mat Rainbow Star is a 60" x 24" lightweight, non-toxic 3mm mat with a fun rainbow star print made to keep children ages 5–8 safe, focused, and comfortable during yoga, stretching, and play.

Bright patterns and an appropriately sized surface help little ones build balance, concentration, and movement confidence. This kid-focused mat pairs a lightly textured, non-slip surface with PVC that is 6P-free (no common phthalates) and includes a downloadable kids yoga class to guide parents and instructors. At 60 inches long and 24 inches wide with a 3mm thickness, it fits the stretch, roll, and pose needs of early elementary children while remaining portable for classes, playdates, or quiet time at home.

How does this mat keep children safe and steady?

The mat’s lightly tacky texture reduces slipping without feeling sticky, so young hands and feet can hold poses and transitions more securely. Three millimeters of cushioning softens elbows and knees while still allowing stable balance for standing postures.

• Textured non-slip surface for secure grips
• 3mm thickness cushions joints but keeps stability
• Lightweight design prevents tripping or rolling mishaps

Is the Gaiam kids mat free of harmful chemicals?

Yes — this mat is produced without the six common phthalates (6P-free), which means it avoids DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP, and DNOP. While it is made from PVC for durability and print clarity, the formulation is designed to minimize exposure to those specified chemicals.

• 6P-free PVC construction
• Non-toxic manufacturing focus for children's use
• Vibrant print made with kid-safe ink processes

What activities are best suited to this size and thickness?

The 60" x 24" footprint is sized for children roughly ages 5–8 and works well for yoga flows, balance drills, stretching, tumbling basics, and quiet-time or mindful play. The mat’s dimensions strike a balance between giving room to move and staying manageable for small hands to roll up and carry.

• Yoga poses and kid-friendly flows
• Balance and coordination exercises
• Stretching, playtime, or calming activities

What extra support does the mat include to help parents and teachers?

Beyond the physical mat, Gaiam supplies a downloadable kids yoga class that introduces poses and playful sequences designed for young learners. The guide helps adults lead short lessons, adapt activities, and build routines that keep children engaged while learning body awareness and breath awareness.

• Free downloadable yoga class for kids
• Simple sequences to guide group or solo practice
• Ideas for adapting activities to different skill levels
