The Garmin Descent T2 Transceiver is a compact SubWave™ sonar accessory that wirelessly shares tank pressure, consumption and short diver-to-diver messages with compatible Descent air-integrated computers.
Designed to snap to a high-pressure regulator port, the Descent T2 extends situational awareness below the surface by sending real-time tank and buddy data to compatible Garmin Descent dive computers (sold separately). It combines SubWave™ short-range sonar networking with BLE pairing for simple setup, a user-replaceable CR123A battery rated for long dives, and a 20 ATM dive rating for demanding conditions. Software v.15.70 or later adds message exchange and improved network features.
The T2 reads high-pressure port data and transmits tank pressure, consumption rate and estimated time remaining to a paired Descent air-integrated computer. That computer displays the values on your wrist so you see tank status without looking at the regulator.
Yes — the T2 enables exchange of preformatted diver-to-diver messages through the SubWave network when paired with compatible air-integrated Descent dive computers. Message range reaches roughly 30 meters in ideal conditions, helping keep teams coordinated underwater.
The transceiver is built to dive-rated standards (20 ATM) so it tolerates deep-water use, and it uses a CR123A lithium battery that you can replace in the field. Garmin estimates up to 100 hours of dive time per battery under typical conditions, letting you rely on it across multi-day trips.
To take full advantage of the T2 you need a compatible air-integrated Garmin Descent dive computer (sold separately) and the required software version. Pairing uses Bluetooth Low Energy for initial ID and SubWave for underwater networking; ensure your dive computer’s firmware is current for messaging and multi-transceiver support.
Who this is for: The Garmin Descent T2 Transceiver suits divers who want clearer air awareness and team coordination without adding bulky hardware to the regulator. It’s ideal for tech and recreational divers who use Garmin Descent air-integrated computers, dive teams that monitor multiple tanks or buddies, and anyone who values straightforward setup, long battery life and a rugged, dive-rated accessory to improve underwater situational awareness.
Q: How many transceivers can one Descent computer monitor?
A: Each compatible Descent computer can pair with up to eight Descent T2 transceivers within range for multi-tank or buddy monitoring.
Q: What battery does the T2 use and how long does it last?
A: The T2 uses a user-replaceable CR123A lithium battery, delivering up to about 100 hours of dive time under typical conditions.
