HEAD Graphene XT Speed S Tennis Racquet, 27-inch, Grip 4 3/8 inches, 100 sq. in. head, Pre-Strung 16x19

The HEAD Graphene XT Speed S is a 27-inch, pre-strung graphite tennis racquet built for intermediate players who want a balanced mix of control, spin and accessible power.

Engineered from HEAD’s experience in high-performance sports gear, the Graphene XT Speed S blends modern materials and practical design to deliver a dependable all-court racket. It arrives pre-strung with HEAD Synthetic Gut in an open 16x19 pattern, and its slightly thicker 22.5mm beam and 100 sq. in. head create a forgiving sweet spot for mid-level competitors. The specification prioritizes maneuverability and feel while offering enough weight and head size to support a broad range of playing styles.

How does the Graphene XT Speed S handle control and power?

This racket is tuned to give intermediate players a predictable mix of power and precision. The near-even balance (about 1 point head light) keeps swings agile without sacrificing stability on harder hits. You’ll notice crisp feedback from the graphite construction, helping you place shots with confidence.

• 100 sq. in. head provides a forgiving sweet spot.
• Strung weight ~303 g (10.7 oz) for a stable feel through impact.
• 22.5 mm beam balances power with controllability.
• Graphite construction yields responsive feedback.

Is this racket good for generating spin and handling modern strokes?

The open 16x19 string pattern favors players who use topspin and aggressive forehands. Wider spacing between strings lets the ball bite into the bed more, enabling higher spin potential without forcing you to sacrifice control. Pre-stringing with HEAD Synthetic Gut provides a neutral baseline for string playability.

• 16x19 pattern enhances spin potential for topspin shots.
• Pre-strung with synthetic gut for a balanced, playable setup out of the box.
• 100 in² head size helps with margin on heavy spin shots.

What should I expect in terms of maneuverability and on-court feel?

The Speed S is designed to be nimble at the net while remaining solid from the baseline. Its near-even balance (slightly head light) makes it easy to redirect pace and react quickly at net. The overall weight and beam profile create a feeling that supports fast swings and quick recovery between shots.

• 27 in length keeps standard swing geometry for comfortable handling.
• 1 pt head light balance for quick racquet head speed and responsiveness.
• 4 3/8 (size 3) grip fits many adult players; regripping is straightforward if needed.

How durable and travel-ready is the racquet?

HEAD’s Graphene-enhanced frame improves strength without excessive weight, so the racket stands up to regular play while remaining easy to carry. The pre-strung setup and standard dimensions make it a reliable choice for club sessions, lessons, or travel to tournaments. Routine regripping and periodic restringing will extend its service life like any performance racket.

• Graphene XT technology for a balance of strength and lightness.
• Pre-strung condition means ready-to-play out of the box.
• Standard 27 in length and 4 3/8 grip simplify bag compatibility and accessories.

Who is this for? The HEAD Graphene XT Speed S is aimed at intermediate adults who want a versatile, easy-to-handle racket that supports both aggressive and placement-oriented play. If you’re moving beyond beginner gear and want a racquet that offers spin-friendly strings, a comfortable sweet spot, and a responsive graphite frame, this model is a strong candidate. Coaches, club players, and weekend competitors who value quick maneuverability and balanced performance will find the Speed S especially well suited to their game.
