HolyElks Sliding Mitt Youth (Ambidextrous), Dollar color — Neoprene hand guard with padded palm and aluminum reinforcement

HolyElks Sliding Mitt is a lightweight, ambidextrous youth hand guard that combines neoprene comfort, padded palm impact absorption, and internal aluminum reinforcement to protect fingers and hands while sliding.

Whether you’re teaching a young baserunner or upgrading youth game gear, this sliding mitt is built to reduce sting and abrasion from slides without sacrificing mobility. The mitt pairs a cushioned palm with structured aluminum plates inside a durable neoprene shell, offering a middle ground between full gloves and bare-hand running. It’s made for fast play, easy on/off wear, and repeat use through practices and games.

How does the padding and palm design reduce impact during slides?

The mitt uses a thick, impact-absorbing palm layer to spread forces from contact with the base or ground, lowering pinpoint pressure on the hand. Padding also helps limit scrapes and keeps fingers away from direct abrasion.

• Reinforced palm cushioning to absorb shock on contact.
• Composite underside panels to resist friction and wear.
• Padded zones positioned where most sliding impact occurs.

What protection does the aluminum reinforcement provide?

Aluminum alloy strips and plates are sewn into the lining to add a semi-rigid guard for the fingers and back of the hand. This structure helps distribute impact forces and maintains hand shape during hard slides without making the mitt cumbersome.

• Internal aluminum strips for finger and knuckle support.
• Reinforcement placed to prevent finger hyperextension on contact.
• Lightweight metal keeps protection high but overall weight low (approx. 4.8 oz).

Will the mitt stay comfortable and secure through a game?

The neoprene exterior and elastic wrist strap give a snug, breathable fit that works on either hand. The ambidextrous design and soft inner lining reduce chafing while keeping the mitt stable during slides, dives, and baserunning sprints.

• Neoprene outer shell for flexibility and breathability.
• Elastic wrist strap to lock the mitt in place during play.
• Ambidextrous sizing suited for youth players on either hand.

How durable is the mitt for repeated practice and games?

Built with composite top panels and reinforced neoprene, the mitt withstands repeated friction and scraping from bases and turf. The sewn-in aluminum and thickened panels are chosen to resist tears and extend the useful life of the guard.

• Composite panels on top and underside for abrasion resistance.
• Neoprene shell resists stretching and maintains fit.
• Includes a 3-month warranty against manufacturing defects.

Who is this for: The HolyElks Sliding Mitt is aimed at youth baseball and softball players who want added confidence while stealing bases, sliding head-first, or practicing aggressive baserunning. Coaches and parents looking for a lightweight, protective hand guard that fits either hand and endures regular use will find this mitt useful. It’s ideal for players who prefer a low-profile guard with a structured protective element rather than a bulky glove.
