Favofit Locking Carabiner Screwgate - Large 42kN UIAA Rated 7075 Aluminum, Keylock Nose

Favofit locking carabiners are heavy-duty screwgate clips engineered to a UIAA 42kN (9441 lbs) rating for demanding climbing, rescue, and professional rigs.

These Favofit large screwgate carabiners blend aircraft-grade 7075 aluminum strength with a D-shaped body, keylock nose, and a fail-safe screwgate to reduce snagging and cross-loading. At 4.7 inches tall and 2.7 inches wide, each carabiner weighs just 3.25 oz while delivering a massive 42kN axis strength. They’re built for technical climbing, arborist work, rope rescue back-ups, and any situation that requires dependable load-bearing hardware.

How does the 42kN rating affect real-world safety and use?

A 42kN axis strength (about 9441 lbs) indicates the maximum force the carabiner resists along its spine before failure. The UIAA certification confirms the design and testing meet accepted climbing safety standards, so you can trust the component in many rigging contexts.

• 42kN main-axis strength for high load tolerance
• UIAA-tested design and manufacturing oversight
• Appropriate for belays, anchors, and rescue back-ups (per industry protocols)
• Not a substitute for trained procedures or full-rated rescue systems

What features reduce rope snags and accidental opening?

The Favofit carabiner uses an anti-hook keylock nose and a precision-machined screwgate to minimize catching and accidental gate opening. The smooth keylock interface lets ropes and slings seat and unseat without catching, making clipping faster and less error-prone.

• Keylock nose eliminates hook points that snag webbing or rope
• 0.9-inch gate opening for easy clipping of thick ropes and hardware
• Fail-safe screwgate threads resist dirt, ice, and accidental rotation
• D-shape geometry aligns load to the spine, reducing cross-load risk

How does the material and weight balance performance for climbers?

Crafted from 7075 aerospace-grade aluminum, these carabiners keep weight low while preserving exceptional strength. At about 3.25 oz apiece, they won’t add unnecessary drag to a rack but still handle professional workloads.

• 7075-T6 aluminum provides high strength-to-weight ratio
• Lightweight 3.25 oz construction for easier carry on long routes
• Durable finish resists abrasion and corrosion from outdoor use
• Large size accommodates multiple connectors and thicker slings

Can these carabiners be used for rescue, firefighting, or arborist work?

Favofit designed this locking carabiner as a multi-purpose heavy-duty clip suitable for many professional applications where a certified connector is required. Always use these as part of a full-rated system and follow institutional safety protocols for rescue and industrial use.

• Suitable as connectors in rope access and anchor configurations
• Works well with harnesses, pulleys, and rigging plates
• Sold and specified as part of professional kits when combined with proper gear
• Not a replacement for application-specific certified hardware where required

Who is this for? These Favofit 42kN screwgate carabiners are aimed at climbers, arborists, rope-access technicians, and first responders who need lightweight, high-strength connectors with anti-snag noses and reliable screwgate closure. If you manage anchors, haul systems, or safety rigs and require certified, durable carabiners that minimize snagging and cross-loading, this 2-pack gives you professional-grade performance without excess bulk.
